Totality.jpgOur next IndieCade 2010 finalist is 'an "open source" tabletop game'. I'll let you decipher that for a moment, while I tell you that the game is called Tic-Tac-Totum, and features dice and poker chips.

So here's how that "open source" bit works - two players take each other on in a regular game of Tic Tac Toe. However, once a player has chosen which grid space they want to take, they must then play a 10 minute minigame to claim that space as their own. The minigames are selected from the online Tic-Tac-Totum wiki, which can be added to and edited by anyone. Hence, each game will be different, as rules are changed and new games are added to the mix.

In the above photo, you can see the Tic Tac Toe board above the action, then in the middle is a minigame in progress. The game will be available to play at the IndieCade festival on the 8th of October.
