Browser Game Pick: Time Pygmy (deepnight)

In Time Pygmy you play as a caveman who discovers a time portal inside his cave on a rainy day. Being rather inquisitive he decides to jump into the portal without thinking twice, and finds himself teleported to a cosy house sometime in the distant future. Our protagonist is also given only four minutes to make as many discoveries as he can, before he is forcefully returned to his own timeline to reflect on the amazing adventure he's just had.

Every new discovery that you make will light up a bulb at the bottom of the screen, although the first two discoveries are pretty much given to you as a gift during the tutorial sequence. Some puzzles are solved by placing two objects side by side, while others may require a certain amount of brute force before players can add them to their row of achievements.

The game is also rather short in length, but you'll need at least a couple of playthroughs to figure out every discovery there is to find in this Ludum Dare 19 competition submission.

Beat Hazard + Girl Talk = Pay-What-You-Want

Browser Game Pick: 64pixels (asiekierka)

64pixels is a multiplayer open world game that offers a comprehensive set of tools for constructing just about anything a player can dream of. Best described as an ASCII version of Minecraft, this versatile program has a crazy number of features for you to play around with, and clever folks can even build things like the electrical circuitry seen in the video.

There's already a multiplayer server in place for players to connect to (, and pressing the T key allows you to chat with other people on the same server. While in chat mode, typing /who also brings up a list of players.

Windows and Linux builds are available to download from official site, and if your internet browser is capable of running Java applets then there's a page that you can visit and play the game from inside your browser window as well. Humble Indie Bundle 2 Hits $1Million, Now Redeemable on Steam

A surprise was promised if (read: when) the second Humble Indie Bundle hit sales of $1,000,000. True to their word, a surprise is here: The Humble Indie Bundle can now be redeemed via both Steam and Desura.

Whether you've already bought the pack, or are just buying it now, if you visit your unique link for the bundle, you'll now find two keys that can be plugged into Steam and Desura. After putting the code in, you'll be able to download Braid, Osmos and Machinarium to your libraries, with both Cortex Command and Revenge of the Titans appearing in your Steam/Desura list once they are added.

As if you needed more reason to pick up the bundle, this is a mighty fine one! The bundle is still available for just over 2 days.

Browser Game Pick: Monomaze (Diffusion Games)

Monomaze is a clever puzzle game that's about creating closed boxes by drawing straight lines from one dot to another. Players can only draw a line between two of the nearest dots, and each time you do so the moves counter will be reduced by one. You can replenish the number of moves you have left by capturing the yellow arrows on the board, and more power-up items will appear if you draw larger boxes instead of just small ones.

Bombs will start to appear around the third level or so, and you would have to remove these from the field too before their timer countdown reaches zero. Drawing a box around them should make them disappear permanently, but you can also collect lightning symbols to destroy all bombs that exist on screen.

Monomaze is playable over at Kongregate.

Browser Game Pick: Bat Country (Greg Sergeant)

Bat Country is a horizontal-scrolling shooter with four levels to play through, featuring silhouette graphics and imaginative enemy designs that'll keep you on your toes from start to end. The story is about a pilot named Thompson who must fly deep into enemy territory to rescue a group of stranded soldiers, even when the odds heavily stacked against him and his copter is well and truly under-equipped for such a mission.

The bombs that you carry on your ship can be thrown one at a time using the space key, and once they are close to your intended target you can press the same button again to detonate them and cause some serious damage. Mastery of the bomb detonation skill is essential if you're planning to survive past the second area, since the difficulty ramps up quite a bit when bigger and badder enemies are introduced into the equation.

First Two Minutes of Fez

Polytron has posted up a video of the first two minutes of upcoming XBLA title Fez. The gameplay shows protagonist Gomez climbing up to meet Geezer at the top of a little village, before a strange, 3D cube appears spinning above his head.

The game is still set to land in 2011 on Xbox Live Arcade.
