I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. Wanderlands' contribution to Ludum Dare 22 is a formidable little puzzle platformer centered around the myth of King Midas, the man with the golden touch. It's also surprisingly poignant. Each level is centered around the same task. You, as the titular character, must make his way to some blue blocks in order to remove his ability to transform everything into precious metal. The reason for this constant quest? A girl whose hand you want to hold.

In spite of the simplistic visuals, Midas is actually rather tough. Your talent for turning things into gold will be both a boon and a constant thorn in your side. Thanks to the fact that golden blocks are heavier than black ones, you'll find yourself spending a lot of time dodging falling geometrical objects and moving carefully across long paths. One false move and you'll find yourself bereft of a way back.
