: Steel Saviour

Steel Saviour is a side-scrolling shooter by Atlanteq that features impressive graphics and visual effects. The objective of the game is to guide your ship across five levels of alien landscapes and defeat the bosses that you will encounter.

There's a health meter shown at the top of the screen to indicate the amount of damage that your ship can take. No weapon shop but you do get to collect items to fill up your secondary weapon slots.

The trial version is limited to twenty minutes of gameplay time, which is probably enough to sample a huge portion of the first stage and hopefully a boss battle or two. Worth a spot in anyone's shmup collection, but the download size makes Steel Saviour a recommendation only for broadband users. Click here for the demo.
