The Desolate Room is one of those releases where the introductory sequence makes little sense, and still screenshots doesn't portray the game in motion too favorably. The author has also included a tiring fetch quest during the first fifteen minutes of the player's adventure, but things do look up after the team encounters it's first boss battle.

A game in progress is saved automatically whenever the player leaves and exits a battle or the console. Each of your party members has to charge up before allowed to access their individual skills and attacks. Left click to shoot enemies in the console or make menu selections. Double click on a skill or attack in the upgrade screen shown after a battle to increase it's level and efficiency.

I was waiting for this to arrive here. :)Running as a Coffee maker with legs you collect eggs and come across remains of some discarded battle bots (with names like Derelict and Defect no wonder they were thrown away). Then you get to fight with viruses in cyberspace using abilities of virtual images of these bots. The graphics (especially in combat) are really nice. Animated movements, effects, clear interface... Love it.At least visually it's a breath of fresh air among those RPG Maker lookalikes.

Looks impressive and sounds properly surreal. Guess I'll gotta try it. Nice find lemeza.

it glitched on me when it ended up saving my file directly on a boss and it couldn't figure out how to load the fight. great game. How do I reset it?

Funkle,Unfortunately you'll have to remove the save file entirely - it's called 'rstat' and it should be on the C:\ drive.

Knowing that it saved in c:\rstat would have solved a major problem with the game (i.e. it wouldn't keep track of saved games.) That isn't Vista compatible - and even opposes the "legacy" convention of saving settings within the program's directory.
