The author of Knytt Stories had posted a concept art for his new project, currently titled Night Game.

Additional information from Nifflas, as pointed out by pi (thanks!):

"I want to create a game that takes place in a 2D landscape. The background scenery will contain slopes, but it does not have to be curved like in the demonstration images.

Except for the static terrain, I am only interested in two shapes. Rectangles and Spheres. The player character will be a ball that can be rolled with the left and right arrow keys. Boxes and rectangles collide realistically with the ball, and can be pushed and tipped."

Nifflas working on a physics game? Scrumptious.

Finally some slopes. Although his other games did manage very well without them.

Knytt Stories has slopes, he just doesn't use them very often. And yes my palms are sweaty.

Word on the street (or Clickteam forums, whatever) has it that this game will be using a physics engine currently in development for MMF2. Check out this post Nifflas made on the Clickteam forums.

This almost sounds like an action game. I can't imagine Nifflas making a good action game, his style seems to be more relaxed than most games. I suppose we'll see!

It's got a ball for a main character, hooray!Personally, I liked WaDF a lot more than Knytt, or Knytt Stories.

Waaait a minute. Nifflas and physics? Nifflas and action? He sure as hell can make this kind of game - what was WADF all about if not about action and physics? WADF wasn't relaxed in any way - it had very difficult sections, enemies and timed sequences.

Yum.

sigh! another ball character. im excited already !
