This game isn't bad actually. Very professional for a flash game.

Nice, although I encountered a bug that stopped me from progressing any further in the game so I had to quit =(.
Regarding it being “professional for a flash game” I find comments like that a bit frustrating.
Just because a game is made in flash, doesn’t mean its going to be a bad game. There are low quality games made in every development tool, the difference with flash is that it’s easy to showcase your games, so the internet gets flooded with a lot of rubbish games. This however doesn't change the fact that there are still good quality flash games released every day, just like there are in every other format.
It's nice to see more flash games getting featured here anyway =).

Damn it, one of the reasons we made N was to settle this whole "good.. for flash" stupidity once and for all. Blame the developer, NOT the platform!
Flash is just as powerful (arguably more powerful) as SNES or GBA, so there's no reason the games should be any worse than any of the games on those systems.

Turn based battles.. yes, lovely indeed. Oh, and a happy 2008 to Tim and his band of merry indies!
Posted by: gnome | December 31, 2007 5:21 PM
I don't consider professional to be the opposite of "bad". There are a lot of unprofessional games that I love. And saying that most flash games aren't professional isn't saying that flash itself is unprofessional.
Professional to me just means original music, original graphics which aren't drawn in MS Paint, and clearly not being made in only a few weeks at most. Which anyone who plays flash games has to admit is rarely seen in them.
Posted by: Paul Eres | December 31, 2007 7:49 PM
But again, that has nothing to do with the platform. If you hang around in the flash community you will see plenty of highly professional games. I'm not having a go at you Paul, I know you aren't trying to put down flash games, but there is this general negative attitude towards them when there really shouldn’t be.
Posted by: alillm | December 31, 2007 10:08 PM
I didn't say it had anything to do with the platform, though. And even though there are plenty of professional flash games, the ratio is very low, something like 1:99. But of course the same is true of Game Maker, which I use.
I also don't see being unprofessional as negative -- why should it be negative? It's not a bad thing to be unprofessional.

HOW THE HELL do you kill this paladin when he heals and shields and does like 400+ per hit and has 2k life.... wtf is that bs.. is there something i've done wrong? besides that it's a good game... just stupidly hard at times.
Posted by: I'm stuck in afer 30k hp boss | January 3, 2008 9:46 PM
Well, I managed to kill the paladin because of a bug. Before the paladin I went back to area 2, and mysteriously other 4 party members became available, including an assassin girl. With her doing about 1800 damage with criticals paladin wasn't much of a problem...
Everything else wasn't hard at all. Well, area 4 bosses ARE hard, the second one has 320000 HP...
Posted by: x_x | January 3, 2008 10:46 PM
lol either run the paladin out of mana so he can't heal or use subversion on him so he does 1000+ damage to himself. Think a little harder. This game is a true test of tactics and its damn good.
Posted by: Anonymous | January 4, 2008 3:01 AM
Hey! A great idea, I totally forgot about that!
Posted by: x_x | January 4, 2008 11:03 AM
im stuck at the guy after the second boss in the fourth zane. he has one MILLION health and he can heal up to three hundred THOUSAND health uding no focus. NONE. i cant DO that. its not fair...
Posted by: HELP ME HELP HELP HELP | January 4, 2008 7:21 PM
Well, I'm going to use that Subversion trick on him... pretty much the only thing that has a chance...
Posted by: x_x | January 4, 2008 8:55 PM
wait till he is like 800hp then use Subversion on him
Posted by: Anonymous | January 5, 2008 6:04 AM
where can i download zone 4 for sony? I defeaded the paladin.
Posted by: Jadakiss | January 5, 2008 9:52 PM
The story is incomplete.
I enjoyed the game for three chapters. Then the authors drop it with a suggestion that you wait for the continuation.
If pure grind with no end isn't your thing, consider waiting until the next episode is released before starting this.
Had I known beforehand, I wouldn't have bothered.
That said, the game is pretty nifty. But without the satisfaction of an ending, I regret playing it.
Posted by: martyjohns | January 7, 2008 12:33 AM
I just finished the game and i must say i enjoyed it a lot.
It is very hard, but rewarding to see a boss fall before you.
Liked that you used Sinjid as a boss.
I hope to see more games of such quality and attention.
Best of luck to all....
Posted by: lazzy | January 7, 2008 8:44 PM
about the paladin boss
he will heal himself when his health goes below 990000 so cast subversion on him right before, thank good palas are no brainers as in wow :P
Posted by: Muad | January 8, 2008 12:12 AM
Thanks Muad. I hated the idea that I'd have to guess tre exact two turns when this Gordon Freeman wannabe is going to heal himself. It's really reassuring that one CAN guess.
Posted by: x_x | January 8, 2008 11:21 AM
how do you defend against fate??? used by Ignition.
Posted by: Slash | January 9, 2008 9:37 AM
Stun him.
Posted by: x_x | January 9, 2008 10:29 AM
I think that Ignition is to longest and the most boring fight in the game.
Oh yeah, by the way, when he's below a certain ammount of HP he begins using not just Fate, but Cripple+Fate. It seems thet if you don't dispel Cripple as soon as you can, you won't be able to stop Fate.
Posted by: x_x | January 9, 2008 10:31 AM
how do you defeat the Doctor Herregods in the eternity zone?....he has 1 000 000 health!! and heals for 2 million...i think if you take out all his focus he can't heal anymore, but are we really expected to paper-cut him to death if you know what i mean?
Posted by: ARG! | January 9, 2008 9:55 PM
ARG!:
Get him down to 990000 (or rather 989000) HP, then cast Subversion on him. The dumbass "doctor" will kill himself. Just to be sure I freezed him When he was down to 990000, dealt some more damage (Amber and her 2000+ HP criticals rock!), freezed him again, hurt him some more and THEN used Subversion.
BTW, as I tried to load the game today, it gave me a 404. It does exist at the new place (http://armorgames.com/play/505/sonny), but it seems that the saves are screwed up.
Posted by: x_x | January 9, 2008 10:59 PM
Thanx x_x. but is there any trick to killing him? when can i use subversion on him?
Posted by: Slash | January 10, 2008 5:26 AM
Slash, duuuuuude. Okey, I'll try to make it even more obvious than last time.
My setup was Subversion, two Shatter Bolts, Blood Focus, Re-Energize, and some defensive stuff, don't remember it exactly. I was playing strictly defensive, waiting for Amber to hurt him enough. When she did, I casted Shatter Bolt, skipped turn, I casted Shatter Bolt, skipped turn, casted Subversion.
Posted by: x_x | January 10, 2008 10:58 AM
How do you beat that baron guy? I'm a destoryer so defensive skills arn't my key.
Posted by: I'm hella stuck | January 11, 2008 4:34 AM
hey x_x, thanx dude. finally got rid of him!!! couldn't have done it without u!!

I'm glad I could help!
I'm hella stuck:
Your class has very little to do with your abilities. Many 'magic' abilities rely on strength and magic, not just magic alone. Just re-spec, max out defensive skills, kill him, then re-spec again. Wound is the only offensive skill useful against him - it will help the paladin kill the baron faster. Well, Shatter Bolt, Break and Cripple can also help, but not by much...
Posted by: x_x | January 11, 2008 11:03 AM
Hi dude! I'm from Japan.
I'm stucking at three shadows, we called them "double green onion guys".
#you can understand why we called them like this from link below.
http://piapro.jp/a/content_list/?view=image&tag=%93%F1%93%81%97%AC
Anyway, I can't find way to avoid strong magic comes from the shadow.
How to avoid it?
Posted by: masa | January 11, 2008 6:01 PM
Well, I think that constantly using Disruption on him might do the trick, but since my saves got wiped, I can't tell for sure right now.
Posted by: x_x | January 11, 2008 7:40 PM
Now, I found the way.
I stop his spell and beat him.
War is over, nothing remind...

i killed the 2nd boss on the 4th zone.. equip 2 of the ice stuns then 2 blocks everytime he does that attack thing hit him with the ice and let ur teamates kill him.. then if you have no ice skills to use use block and hope he goes for you..
im now fighting some guy with 1000000 hp and its fkn annoying.. trick is to use the subversion when he uses a 2000000 heal but its so hard to catch it..
Posted by: Anonymous | January 13, 2008 7:39 AM
sweet i got it.. for the 3rd boss on the 4th zone.. right before he hits 980000 hp.. ice him and attack him while hes stunned to make sure hes below 980000 hp... then once hes recovered hit him with subversion so when he heals he ends up killing himself
Posted by: Anonymous | January 13, 2008 7:42 AM
Is Guardian/Gunslinger/Assassin the best way to go??
I'm on the second boss in the fourth zone. I had to switch from destroyer to assassin to beat ignition. My char is the mage. The AI for these characters are dumb. I wish I could control them all, I guess that's be too ez though.

this game was fun
Posted by: Anonymous | January 16, 2008 4:08 AM
Man this game is fun and addicting! I can't wait for the sequel! But i am having a problem and i could really use an answer. The girl Amber (The Assassin) Has an ability she uses that increases her speed by 500% and then she uses the attack that does a percentage of speed to do the damage she does.
All i want to know is if im an assassin howcome i cant increase my speed by 500%?
Posted by: Armybelligerent | January 16, 2008 9:44 AM
Howcome the Assasin girl gets an ability that increases speed by 500% and i dont even though im an Assassin?
Howcome i cant increase the AI characters stats when they level up as well?
Posted by: Armybelligerent | January 16, 2008 9:45 AM
Armybelligerent:
You should ask the developer about that. Noone else knows. All 4 classes are identical as of now, the only difference is available equipment and stat growth.

hey guys just a need a quick tip

im stuck on ignition, does any1 have a good stratagy 2 beat him with a lvl 22 destroyer
Posted by: how do u beat ignition | January 16, 2008 9:03 PM
Yeah! this game was great... my first and most advanced class is gunslinger, with which i just beated the game... and not untill this last boss have i used subversion... at first i tried taking all his focus out, then leaving all night for the medic and the guardian to kill him... but the next day the figth was still going on, and i discovered he could still bloody heal... then I had to recheck the tree for subversion.
The only bad thing about the game is that the classes havent' got different abilities... and it would be nice if you could control of your team... becuz the AI is dumb... still:
GREAT GAME!
Posted by: Blop | January 16, 2008 9:15 PM
why don't we have any venom attack... imagine, with the full paladin's outfit u got over 3000 venom piercing... the medic gets 5k crits with that... way over dear amber 2k ones... if only WE had that power...
Posted by: Hey! | January 16, 2008 10:49 PM
guys is there anyway to beat the Sinjid Shadow?
Posted by: Slash | January 18, 2008 6:57 AM
OK LISTEN UP! this is how you can beat Ignition with a Destroyer.
SETUP
Destroyers... Use my setup... 3xSmash(5/5), Break(1/1), Coup De Grace(3/3), Heroic Motivation(3/3), Aggression(3/3), and have a few points on Regeneration (3+/10).
Before fighting those guys... Kill the Paladin and get a full set of his armor (even the sword) and give it to your AI, Veradux. Make sure you have the Destruction sword that costs 4000 (kill illusions for 500 gold and special training for 2000 gold) and most of the armor sold there for Destroyer... Also... spend another 4000 gold on the 2 Assassin swords (Murder and Assassination) for Amber and some decent armor that gives her A LOT of speed. Make sure both your AI's are on tactical. Make sure your AI's and you are all about level 25 and make sure you save before fighting.
FIGHTING
Ok... Now for the fight against Ignition... First thing you need to know is that you wont beat this guy without Amber. Secondly... If Ignition uses Fate on you or Amber in the beginning... Restart. Veradux is just a shield for this guy. Use Aggression on Amber first and if she doesnt use the spell to get 500% her speed before he uses fate on Veradux... Restart. See... The key is Amber because she is an Assassin and speed for Assassins will make their damage increase... Thus... The reason why she hits so hard, so when she uses the spell to get 500% speed and you used Aggression (Note: Veradux should be dead by now.) she will be hitting 4000-5000 damage. Now for the hard part... Staying alive. After successfully getting that setup... Use Break on him. After, use Coup De Grace then pound him with Smashes. If he hurts Amber but doesnt kill her... She will use that block spell (Hopefully) and if Fate is casted on her, the Block absorbs the blow. If she dies... Give up. She will also use The spell to Stun him for a round. Also... Heal her if he puts a lot of Shadow or Fire on her.
She NEEDS to be the last one standing. Just follow the patterns and you will kill Ignition...
TO KILL OMEN
Keep the same setup and he is so easy. Use Smashes and Quick Strikes until he casts his spell. Everytime he uses the spell to do severe damage... use Block to counter it. Sometimes he uses it before you're recharged. Just PRAY that Amber stuns him. Just keep using this strategy and he will be easy... Also... With Veradux having full Paladin armor... His Poison spell will own. When Omen uses the spell to make his hit severe, and Veradux uses the Poison spell... Veradux should hit 50000 damage or so. Devistating.
Thats about it... Pretty easy right? LOL well STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT HOW YOU CANT BEAT HIM! I just explained it in great detail. hope it works out for yall :)
Posted by: Jonathan Rhodes | January 21, 2008 7:49 PM
neah. for a destroyer just use stun and have some of those regeneration ability. motivation and quick strike are just support. amber will do all the damage. keep stunning omen/ignition when they do shits like fate or the severe damage cast. 3rd hero would be a gunslinger, to help to stun.
Posted by: jadizt | January 22, 2008 6:57 AM
To beat Ignition spec for healing and thunderbolt. When he uses the healing buff, dispel it, when he uses fate, dispel it. It's really easy.
To beat the guy after him, spec for the melee stun. Whenever he uses his uber-buff, stun him and let your teammates deal the massive damage.
To beat the guy after that, get him down below 990000 then use subversion so he heals himself to death.
To beat Sinjid, spec for disruption and drain some of his mana on the first turn. Save your disruptions to use immediately after he recharges (if it's 100 mana during his turn, it's a 1HKO for one of your party members). Other than that, kill his shadows quickly. They are weak in combat (they deal 5 damage per hit) but they act as mana batteries for him. Whenever he uses Shadow Meld, freeze and stun him (once again, if he attacks you while shadowmelded, it's a 1HKO). This fight is impossible if you are below level 25, since you'll be constantly missing with your disruptions.

The one who programmed the ai was really having a fun time, im on the 4th map where id be better alone than with the medic and assasin :P
Example: The boss has a buff that heals him 1000 each round. I cast subversion to make him kill himself and they take his buff of...
They go after the shielded one when the medic has a debuff electro bolt...
When one of the enemies is almost dead, his fellows cast a double intervention and a heal on him so he fullheals in one round...
Seriously it doesn't make the game harder, just more irritating

HOW THE HELL: how the hell do you beat ignition that guy is friggin hard and my teammates those retards make wrong moves im a gunslinger lvl 14-17
Posted by: .:TRICKY:. | April 1, 2008 6:29 AM
You beat ignition by using heroic motivation to dispell his fate and when he casts his healing attack use electro bolt to dispell that. After that just attack and wait for the assassin to use her critical. Make sure to have blood focus and that other focus restoring attack so that you can stay in the battle for a long time.

If you all want a secret that will let you beat almost everything later on easily:
drag equipment from your inventory down to abillities, click abillities, move cursor over your stat + signs clcik, that stats of that item are now added to your stats without equipping it, you will lose the item though.

with this strategy i was able to beat Ignition and Omen using only smash 4/5.

Posted by: mikah | June 26, 2008 9:54 PM
how come i don't level? i'm in the 3rd location and I have reached 100% 2 different times now and still stuck at level 11. I train a lot so I dont have to worry about dying through the actual fights.
Posted by: trevor | July 4, 2008 8:55 PM
To Anyone Stuck on a Boss:
The trick to level up your stats posted by sonnypro is amazing. Just buy a bunch of cheap items and up your stats. I'm a lvl. 37 gunslinger and my attacks do from 10000 to 35000, my magic is at 2805, sure it took a while, but it's worth it. I beat ignition with one attack, and was able to KO the Shadows with one hit. Then i used shatter bolt on the Sinjid's Shadow and hit him twice with the magical bolt. Talk about power!!
Posted by: thesonnymaster | July 20, 2008 6:34 PM
However, the trick to up your stats has one drawback, you can't re-spec, EVER. It will reset your stats to bare minimum, if your lvl 14, you only get to add back your 14 stats, all the other stats you added from the cheat are gone, and the only way to get them back is to slowly gain them from the cheat.
Right now the game is kinda boring for me. Since i'm so strong, i can KO the final boss in like 3 turns, i have like 20 champion's trophies, and there's not much left to do. I'm playing Sonny from onemorelevel.com, with they update it there too, or do i need to play it on a diff site??
Posted by: thesonnymaster | July 20, 2008 6:50 PM
Apparently if you do the trick too much the games screws up. Hmmm. I should have known it was too good to be true. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted
