Flash Game Pick: MSOIDS (cactus/alillm)
A collaborative effort between cactus and alillm (Abstract Sea, Neon 2), MSOIDS is an arena shooter originally developed using the Game Maker engine, then ported to the Flash platform for all to enjoy.
Use the W, A, S and D key to move. Rapid fire is activated by holding down the left mouse button, though this is only temporary as shot frequency begins to whittle down when used for a prolonged period of time. Press the space key to switch background colors.

Just a note, if the game doesn't work for you (and you have flash player 9 installed), try updating to the latest version of flash player 9, that should solve it.
This problem has been fixed, but hasn't been uploaded yet =).

Did anyone see the rating?

I think people don't get the vector graphics. =)

The rating isn't a surprise to be honest. People who play casual flash games are a completely different audience compared to the ones that usually play Cactus' games. They probably have no idea that the graphics are ment to be like that. Still, looks like Cactus managed to get sponsorship from CrazyMonkeyGames, so its not all bad :)

I think the rating also has to do with that a lot of people can't play the game yet... But the game does have a look that many people won't like, yeah :)
alillm's to thank for the CMG sponsorship.

BenH, exactly.

Yea, were hoping the score will go up a bit when the fixed version of the game goes online.
Flash does have a reputation for being a casual market, but it isn't 100% casual, there are plenty of 'hardcore' gamers that play flash games too. It is true that many people won't appreciate the style though =(.

What was the problem that needed to be fixed?
Posted by: BenH | December 30, 2007 2:33 PM
The problem is that the game loads and then a white screen is all you get. Same with me...and yes, I do have flash player 9 installed.

Do you have the latest build of flash player 9? They release new versions all the time, so unless you installed it within the last month or so, you probably don't. Another person who had the problem installed the latest build and that fixed it.
The fix should hopefully be online in the next couple of days though, so it will work with any version of FP9 then.

Once again - great work, Alillm! Maybe I'm a bit biased but I actually like the flash version more.

Hehe, cheers mate =). Nice to see someone else from FK over here!
The game has been updated on Crazy monkey games by the way and should no work for everyone with flash 9 (I hope). It’s also just been submitted to newgrounds =).
