Excellent round-up and shockingly I haven't played quite a few of these lovely offerings. Thanks & cheers Tim!

Huh? "Best Freeware Adventure Games 2007"?
...then why is Passage on the list?
I mean - I enjoyed it for the short while it lasted, but it's more of an idea than a game.
...no wait, it's actually not really much of a game at all.
Again, I enjoyed it, but it doesn't belong under this heading.

I'm trying to push the boundaries of what defines an adventure game this year, instead of sticking twenty standard AGS games into the list again. (see 2006)
This meant leaving out a couple of good AGS games though, regrettably. (La Croix Pan, Purgatorio, Earl Mansin: The Breakout, Unbound: A Wound Vignette, Charlie Foxtrot, Murder in a Wheel)
I'll try and do better next year. :)

If you're after adventure games that are a little different, I humbly offer up Ultimate Quest. It won one of our development competitions last year and should push a few of the old adventuring buttons with good writing and scurrilous humor...

It would be nice to know the reasons behind the order of these games. Why is Fedora Spade the best, etc?
