« Freeware Game Pick: Raider and Repeler (Yukito Shirotama) | Main | Trailer: Ookibloks »

An Untitled Story is a shareware platformer which was recently released as freeware by Matt Thorson, developer of the popular but frustratingly hard Jumper series. The game world is expansive but players with anything less than incredible reflexes would find it difficult to progress very far, since most of the challenges revolve around precision jumps and a knack for perfect timing.

Switching between full screen and windowed mode is only possible once a new profile has been created. Press the space key to bring up a pause menu, then choose the options tab to find this well-hidden feature.

Looks nice, but for some weird reason, the game won't launch... it just gives me that stupid encountering an error thing whenever I try to launch the game.

I have far from "incredible reflexes", and it wasn't that hard to progress. Getting every heart and powerup, or playing on one of the higher difficulty settings, is hard, but the game's nowhere near as tricky you're making it out to be.

It is a great game, and I definitely recommend downloading it.

This is one of the best games you'll ever get for free. It's massive (it took me weeks), it's quite creative (the environments are beautiful in a simplistic way; it's a game that evokes childlike wonder), and it's fun. I've beaten the game and found most of the extras (there are still like ten or fifteen hearts I haven't found); except for a few parts, I didn't find it that terribly difficult. Maybe I'm better at video games than I thought.

Argh.. mann I want to play the game, but it sucks that I can't for some unknown reason. I have windows xp, I have direct x 9, I do have enough memory, and my video card isn't really old.

Aw, damn it, I just bought the game recently

I just want to weigh in and say that this is right up there with Within a Deep Forest & Lyle's in terms of quality 'metroidvania' freeware. It's also not as hard as you say, although some boss fights are a little frustrating, it's still a pleasure to replay sections.

I particularly like the way that the story isn't over explained, it just emerges through gameplay and only uses cutscenes and explanation later on. Lovely graphics, locations and puzzles too.

Mine dosnt work, i download it and then it says its corrupted and ive tried it like 20 times
