Yo! This game will be made of pure win! :-D
It's like Psychosomnium with better jumping physics (to come back to my favorite topic ;-) and that can only mean: awesome! :-D

Looks absolutely stunning and original!

Nah, not really. The challenge is to not land on platforms that instantly break? It's like the worst aspect of Metroid games as a game design.

The hell? Your judging the challenge of the entire game based on the very first puzzle you come across? It's obvious there will be other challenging aspects of the game as you progress.

From the looks of it you can set your own check points. I'd say that's good to balance out some "cheap" deaths.

Up arrow for jump.. I know someone who'll give a lecture on the subject ;)

No worries. Keys will be redefinable in the final version of the game.

Demo? It's more of a teaser actually;-)
Anyway, very promising so far and it seems though colourful it still has that "melancholic touch". Nice.

Who are you talking about? :-D
However, the game is superb from what I've seen in the demo. Like Psychosomnium on steroids and the jumping physics really are very good now.
Can't wait for the full version.

Oh my god, this is great! When I first saw the trailer I thought it might be Psychosomnium+, but it really has its own character to it. Creepy, cool and stylish. Cactus is my hero.

I like it, but two things:
1) It doesn't uninitialize the fmod dll, which causes a bug to come up for me at the end of the game. Cactus, if you're reading this, make sure you uninit the dll for the full version, or you'll get lots of complaints.
2) The FPS is a too slow for me to play on my computer -- I can't actually tell what the FPS is, but it feels pretty slow. Perhaps there could be some optimizations where not all the nice effects would be used if the FPS drops below a certain level? Because I don't get this slowdown from any of Cactus's other games.

@Paul: Thanks for the feedback!
1) I'll take care of that, I just didn't have time to do a custom quit game thing for the demo.
2) The FPS is low? There really aren't any actual fancy effects in the game, as far as I can tell. Some scaling but no surfaces or anything. Are you sure that the game's running slow?
Posted by: cactus | March 29, 2008 11:11 PM
I'm not exactly *sure* that it's running slow, but it feels that way. I can't really be sure without an fps monitor (I could run it with FRAPS to check though). It may have to do with scaling -- could you have an option to run it in a window too for the full version, so I can compare the two?

Woah, I'm in love! I absolutely can't wait for this game (or, y'know, the next demo) to be finished.
Haha, the poor professor...
