Doujin Game Pick: Hector 39 (Ichigo-Citron)
Hector'39 is a doujin game made by Ichigo-Citron, featuring an unofficial appearance by Hatsune Miku from Yamaha's singing synthesizer series. This vertical shooter has basic enemy sprites, and consists of only two playable stages in the trial version.
Hold the Z key to shoot, press the X key to activate your special attack, and use the C key to reduce your movement speed. The F3 function key can be pressed at any time to pause the game. (more screenshots and gameplay video in the extended)

I fire up the exe, then I choose full screen or windowed. Then it asks something with 0.5 inside and the screen stays white...too bad, screens look cute.

My only other suggestion is to update DirectX. It's not that good of a game anyway; there's plenty of other shmups to try.

Hmmm, I'm pretty sure I already have a rather recent version of DX9c. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion. Think I just skip this one.

Oddly enough, this one flipped my monitor rotation when I tried to play it. That really didn't make any sense.
