Possibly inspired by Valve's Portal, You Have to Burn the Rope is an extremely short game that features good pixel art and sound production using DrPetter's sfxr tool. There is only one solution to the problem, though the credits will be remembered long after you've managed to beat the final boss.

Name: You Have to Burn the Rope
Developer: Kian Bashiri

Hehe, the site even includes several extensive walkthroughs and a manual :D

fucking genius
now you're an hero
you managed to beat the whole damn ga-ame
OH MY LOL

Lovely like a lovely thing.

I like that the credits are longer than the game.

I thought the title of this pope said "Burn the Pope."

:\

LOL! This was one funny little game! I liked the simplicity and the grinning colossus was so awesome! The creditsmusic was good too!

One of the most hilarious games in ages...

this game kinda sucks for me, for some reason is goes super fast. I don't see my character move, he'll just be on the other side of the screen into the first wall. I can't even see him jump, I just hear the sound effect.

Not so keen on this. No depth, nothing to really do. Game made for the credit music only (which I thought was on loop). Even then its only a few repeated lines.

I had a little trouble. It took a good half hour to figure out that I wasn't supposed to use my axe on the boss.

I'm sorry to hear that, Troy RULES. Please consult the game manual if run into any further trouble (mazapan.se/YouHaveToBurnTheRopeManual/)

guest: Please update your flash player, it's a really strange (flash player related) bug.

Hahaha, Troy RULES?

From /v/ and /i/?

That's me, 'sup?

Haha, oh wow. What chan?

I tried this out on my Linux Box at home (I've got Flash 9 on it) and as soon as I clicked start it took me straight to the ending credits (complete with song). I thought the joke was that the game was so simple all you had to do was click start to win.

I see now there is actually a game, but I kinda liked it when it was just "click start to win".

I enjoyed it.

As some1 stated, there is a problem with this 'game'.. on some systems (mine included) it's too fast, it's unplayable.. good work btw.

Oranda & FireSword: Try updating your flash player to the newest version (9.0.124.0).
Anonymous: I'm glad
