Ad Nauseam 2 is a new intense shooter from the prolific Swedish developer cactus, and fans of Seizuredome or Burn the Trash will find something to like in this release. Press the Z key to shoot, and tap the X key to activate the shockwave effect. Hold both buttons to activate the alternate fire. Using either of these two specials will deplete your circular power gauge, shown discreetly in the background.

Collect four green pluses to upgrade your weapon by one level, but be sure to avoid red minuses which downgrade your ship's firepower. Use the F1 function key to switch between uncensored and safe modes. Press F2 to turn off motion blur, or F3 to disable screen shakes.

The game has three phases in total, and your fastest completion time is submitted online once you've beaten the final boss. Playing on the easiest difficulty setting doubles your time on the high score list. (forum thread)

...incredible. What a ride. This game magnificently combines psychedeliciousness and bullet yells in a furiously frantic manner previously unheard of. The second part featuring these ASCII-style enemies alone lets some Japanese games primarily consisting of opposition like that pale in comparison. It's also capable of being pretty much as bloody tough as one would expect only from a doujin STG infamous for its difficulty. Which is great.

Without a doubt one of my favourite games so far. Way to go, cactus, way to go.

Holy damn! Ad Nauseam 2! Ooooh cactus, I know you made this game just for me. Thank you!

sht hot! made me want to push a screwdriver into my brain through my eye socket,. while simultaniously jabing a high-speed drill into each ear-hole,. and i do mean that in a good way.., You have out done yourself with that pice of work Sir! congrats.

Wonderful.

Good.

I didn't really like it, but of course I'm not a fan of Shmups.

it goes whoomph!
and woosh!
weeeeee

it is amazing.

Really awesome game. Great music, great art style. Thanks Cactus. I like when you make games like this

Completely unrelated, but does anyone wtill have the download for Balloon Tournament 2006? The site is down...

Heh, seeing how this game's an highly honoured guest of my Multiplayer folder located straight on my desktop I went ahead and mirrored it at WHFF:

On a more topic related note, I was wondering why Ad Nauseam 2 has returned to the 12 character limit for profile names also used in the earlier games after it was raised to 15 characters in Shotgun Ninja? There is of course not even the slightest connection between my question and my Nick seemingly being the only one which doesn't fully fit in 12 characters.

@RP: I'll raise the limit if I do any updates and will keep it in mind for future games ;)

Splendid. Thanks a lot, cactus! :)
