I think if I had/have the money, I might play on GameTap now AND pay for it later.

How strange that these guys, based in England, would release a game for free for a US only service.
No love for your own country hum?

As a matter of fact, i live in England and i'm playing Mr. Robot through gametap right now. The (albeit gimped) service is free, and it doesn't seem to have a region-based lock on the download. Go ahead and try!

We are based in the UK - but we really consider ourselves to be men of the world ;)
Actually - you should be able to play the ad supported 'free' games on this service outside of the US (I can). Some you can't but that's down to the individual territory deals some companies have made ('Beyond Good and Evil' I think is one of those).
That aside, indies have little say in how these things operate once the game is running on a portal. We can't very well demand that gametap launch in Europe can we :)

Just pointing out that if you're willing to lie about your location, or possibly use a proxy (easier than it sounds), it's pretty easy to get access to all of Gametap from the UK.
