Hadn't seen this mentioned anywhere - Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition will be arriving on GameTap as a free download very soon (usually within a week after it has been posted on the sidebar of GameTap's free games page).

The difference between this version and the original release are the inclusion of the latest updates, multiplayer support and a software development kit to accomodate mods and user creations.

There is one small problem though. Due to the mature content that the game carries, only U.S. and Canadian residents can apply for a TapID to verify their age and play the game.

I wish that Gametap would support x64...

It comes and goes, but the region locking on Gametap is usually pretty lax. It required me to use a proxy to get past the region-lock page, but I signed up ages back, and I'm in the UK.

Some people have told me that you can sign up from anywhere now if you just make up a US address, but enter your real card details.

Last I check, the GameTap client checks for IPs. Which is the damn reason why I haven't be able to get my Sam & Max fix...

Y0tta I assume you mean the new Sam and Max? That's out on Steam in all regions.

Y0tta, no it doesn't. I'm running it right now. Here. From the UK. Everything is accessible.

According to Kotaku it's out on the 1st.

Incidentally, so is Strong Bad's Game for Attractive People.

Please, stop making/releasing great games >_

Just updated my client, it works when I'm signed on as a guest, but doesn't when I use my account.

I just don't know what I'm doing wrong then.

At least I've heard that logging in as a guest is enough to play the free games.
I've also been signed up to GameTap since quite some months - I'm living in Germany :)
The check seems to be quite weird. I know other germans who couldn't sign up, not even using a proxy, I think.

I've been logging in as a guest to play the free games for a while now, though games with mature content is off-limits to guest accounts. Which is okay, I'm not too fond of those games either.
