Self Destruct is a bullet hell shooter with randomly generated enemy patterns. Gameplay revolves around the shield: players can absorb most of the bullets heading their way and use them to power their own gun. Nukes can also be used to clear the screen of all enemies and bullets. The goal of the game is to survive for 250 enemy waves.

The game has an online highscore table, which is available in-game by pressing left or right in the menu.
