Boondog is a puzzle-oriented platformer where you progress from stage to stage by jumping and grabbing ledges, moving blocks, avoiding hazards and activating switches. The game includes a friendly tutorial, two separate level packs consisting of a dozen areas in total, plus a comprehensive text manual which explains everything you need to know when creating new level packs with your own music and themes. The art looks pretty familiar...

I don't know why, but the artwork in this reminds me of a lower quality Xargon.

Flashback, Another World, Prince of Persia (the first one) etc.? :-D

I just wish the jump weren't repeated when you hold down shift or up - this is a game of precision after all...

how....average

I can assure you that all the graphics have been drawn, by myself, originally using MTPaint (it comes with Xandros Linux on the Asus Eee PC 900)!

Cheers,
Matt

I don't really like the tile-based controlling of the character. While it's a throwback to earlier platformers it doesn't feel very good. The way the character controls also seems needlessly complicated. With smooth controls it could be a very fun game, but right now I couldn't get past the tutorial without feeling very frustrated.

Hi, any chance the "Direct download link" can be changed to point to the official one at http://www.bazosoft.com ?

Thanks,
Matt
