Uncle's remake of 3D Starstrike is essentially a rail shooter first released on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum over two decades ago, which in turn was inspired by Star Wars arcade cabinets put out by Atari to cash in on the popularity of the franchise.

The first level involves shooting at enemy ships and the plasma bolts that they will fire at you, while the second requires some fancy dodging skills as you strive to avoid collision with turrets and towers attempting to gun you down. In stage three, you'll need to navigate around catwalks and destroy the two purple pipes at the end of the trench to enter the reactor. Blow up all six reactors pods in the final area to destroy the Battlestar and start all over again, albeit with a higher difficulty. (RR forum thread)

Yeah, I remember the original. So I installed the remake, but when I was shot down in stage 2 during my first flight, the screen suddenly went black; then my computer restarted. wtf?

Maybe it would be a good idea to check the system requirements - if I could find them anywhere.

Hello Groogokk, sorry to hear the game didn't run on your system. Can you drop me a line via my website www.starstrike.urbaninteractive.net with your system specs, and I will try to figure out what the issue is. I have to say this is the first report of it not running, so I would like to get to the bottom of it. I will also calculate the system specs required and put them on the site.

Cheers.

I sent you an e-mail, Urban.

Thanks for the mails. We resolved the issue caused by an incompatibility issue with one of the dlls. Therefore I made a version of the game without the dll. Its is available at http://www.urbaninteractive.net/installb.zip , just incase anyone else experiences the same issues.

Cheers.

Hello,

Just a quick update to say the Ive removed the dll from the game now, and there is a new version (1.0.3) available from www.starstrike.urbaninteractive.net which should fix all the problems mentioned above and more.

Cheers.

This game is just begging for an "Invert Y" option.
