Freeware Game Pick: Big Building Boom Blues
Big Building Boom Blues is a new arcade game created by FrankieSmileShow and Untitled for a friendly Poppenkast competition. The action involves scaling down a tall building with uneven walls using only your rope, just shortly after activating the detonator for a bomb that you've just placed at the top of the towering structure.
Use the up and down arrow keys to change your speed. Press the Z key to skip, or wait until you've bent your knees fully to make a high jump. The F4 function key can be used to switch between full screen and windowed mode. (gameplay video)

I got so close. I'm just bad at it. Or maybe I got a bad building. :)

I just held down and only did high jumps. Was able to beat both modes on the first try this way, although barely for the second mode.

Interesting little game. I did what the Anonymous above me did as well, and beat both modes on the first try (very close for the second mode, though). Fun for one try through, not so much after that.

I really like the concept of this and hope that some gamedev gets inspired by this and does a more extended and polished game around this.

Holy crap, I didn't expect it would be picked up, awesome! Thanks y'all!
We made another version of it later on, that's harder but with a more controlled difficulty. Its in the _Xtra file in this zip: http://www.frankiesmileshow.leafo.net/Stuff/BBBB.zip
Its got some more obstacles and stuff, but that xtra version had more than 3 hours of work into it, so it didnt really fit the initial competition it was for.
