The Hordes is a new vertical shooter by the developer of Destructivator and Return to Sector 9. There is a hint of Galaxians here, but the difference is that enemy waves get increasingly difficult to destroy whenever your ship receives a weapon upgrade by one level. Tougher enemies yield more points. Annihilate large-sized enemies to acquire power-up items.

You lose at least one level of weapon upgrade whenever a power-up item reaches the bottom of the screen or when your ship is destroyed. The video link is for a competition the developer is participating in, and has little to do with the game itself besides a show of support. (online high score table)

Looks funny!!
Like Destructivators :)

Must not be a lot of people playing the game yet because on my second try I got 6th place. It'll probably be pushed down off the top 10 by tomorrow though.

Wow, you're quick timw - it seems any game I release appears on this page within about 4.5 seconds. And apologies for the blatent video link in game, but I'm trying to get as many people as possible to view it!

good game.
4th place...
after tims 3 entries ;)

btw im 3rd place with 475.500 at the arena shooter torque...that was tough.

I think that Foosion score is fake -- it's easy to submit fake scores to that table unfortunately.

Fake scores - it is easy. I've tried all sorts to stop people doing it, but ultimately because GM games are so easy to decompile, if people really want I can't stop them. Why people would want to though I don't really know. I have to regularly purge the highscore charts of fake scores. It's a bit of a bore.

Pure fun!
Made it to stage 6 or 7 but didnt last long :)

I didn't waste any time cheating the game, after all I already wasted enough time just playing it. ;) I just was lucky enough to get to level 10 and survive there for a few minutes. The large enemies there drop 25,000 bonus points instead of power-ups so it seems to be the highest level.

1. 5,069,140
2. 3,095,010
3. 3,047,940
4. 2,751,980
5. 2,617,320

How do we get true high scores submitted? There doesn't seem to be a way to on the high score link.
