Diver maps 2D character posture to mouse position and challenges you to perform thirty death defying dives. The game shines on two occasions: when your planned dive works out, and when it fails miserably, killing the diver Stair-Dismount-style.

Maximize your chances of success by regulating rotation speed (stretched is slow, crouched is fast) so you can land with your feet on the diving platform, and descend as vertical as you can into the blue. Be forewarned, the dives' increasing difficulty will send the faint of heart swimming in a sea of desperation.

Wish list: highscore table, aesthetic dive bonuses, achievements, replay function, level editor and a standalone executable.

Name: Diver
Developer: Jeff Weber
Category: Physics game
Type: Browser

Note: the game provides links to the required (and painless) installation of Microsoft's Silverlight.

I played the demo once. And poorly its still a bit too hard (specially the bouncing of the Platforms)
Stock at Dive 1-16.
But its looks pretty nice and a great game Idea :)

fun but difficult time waster. digging the control scheme.

at first I thought it'd be similar to the game I'm currently working on (shameless plug): http://fbrccn.notmybiz.com/thedeep
...glad to find out that's not the case.

I still prefer Ski Stunt Simulator ;)

I guess this has taught me a new respect for divers. Who knew their sport was based on richoceting their skulls at the right angles off jagged cliffs and trying to keep as straight as possible until at last their broken and fractured body hits the water and then the rock beneath?

Played it for an hour obsessively until I had at least 9's on all the maps. Pretty fun game, even if the control scheme is a bit wonky.

This game was so fun to me that I even bothered to get 10.0 on all dives:

There's something positively amusing about hitting your head, dropping dead on a spring board, being flicked into the target area and getting a 9.6 for it.

@LLCoolDave,

Wow, that's awesome. I'm the guy that created this game and even I haven't gotten all 10s yet!

Glad you liked it and excellent diving!

The game is excellent!
I have a lot of fun with it. I haven't finished it yet, but every day I take a step forward.
Really a good game, Jeff! Keep up the good work!
