Once I get home from work, I'm definitely trying this out before getting back into Spore.

I've heard mostly bad things about Spore. Mostly that it is too casual or simple (like the creature models do nothing to affect the gameplay and that the space part is hard only because of controls) and of course the DRM (SecuROM) which had already failed weeks ago. From most reviewers, it sounds like 5 mediocre casual games (that had been done before) with great graphics due to player input. On top of all that it, to use other people's words, it seems like the game is more of a rental due to the 3 installation limit (you can call support for more installs... but really who wants to do that? You 'bought' the thing) and that anything created in-game is property of EA.
THAT SAID, I like this game. I played the other version for a couple of hours before deciding to find my copy of the Microprose Magic The Gathering game. I hope work continues on Necronomicon as it is shaping up to be a great card game. Eventually with the addition of more cards, a deck editor will push it from 'pretty good' to excellent.

Played once. Didn't receive any damage cards except for taint, which damages indirectly. Got it up to where taint was damaging him for 5 or 6 per round, but he stayed at 1 HP regardless, and I finally died. Also, the cards the opponent puts in play flash by too quickly to read. I really like the creepy aesthetic, but I don't think I'll be playing again til the next release.

For what it's worth, taint can't kill a player...the last blow needs to be with a spell card/a counter by one of your monsters.

do not like this game. way to easy to be killed on the chance that your cards suck and his cards are awesome. plus you get random cards to start with. its like playing poker with an assortment of bad guys of which some dont even stick anywhere w/in the theme. there's too much chance to be at level 70 while your opponent is at 55 and he still kicks your ass w/the right random cards in 'his' layout. show me my cards to choose from please.
