A preview of Secret Exit's new rope simulation game, Zen Bound. Out this fall on the iPhone and iPod, with PC, Mac and console releases to follow shortly after. (Zen Bondage)

definite iPhone purchase

Bondage?.
;-)

And how is this different than "Zen Bondage" by Moppi Productions, which was released years ago?

Besides the iPhone version, it seems like a total ripoff. What's the deal?

"Zen Bondage" goes from simple to complex shapes.. the parts that you've covered change colors, you rotate the objects in the same fashion... I mean.. it literally looks like the same exact game, with no change at all made to the programming.

It looks like it has at least 2 new levels and a minor variation on the snake level. That's about it. An interesting concept, but they're a few years late if they're releasing it as purchasable software.

I'll buy this on my iPhone definitely.

I looked up the members of Moppi and Secret Exit and none of them seem to match, so I don't know what went on there.

It's made by the same guy (Mikko Mononen), and the music is even by the same person who did the Zen Bondage music (he's now a graphics guy at Secret Exit)

hahaaaaaa!

There you go then :) INTERNET CRISIS AVERTED

Zen Bound is a spiritual successor to the PC version. The number of levels will be much greater, and we are still exploring different gameplay variations.

All the levels will tie together into a larger whole, but we'll talk more about that later.

Zen Bound is programmed (fresh start from ground up) by Mikko "Memon" Mononen who also made the original. The music for the new game is also composed by the original artist, "The Ghost Monkey". Both are working at Secret Exit.

The biggest difference for the people who have tried the original is in the controls. The gameplay works really well with multi-touch and tilt. We'll demonstrate that with another video later.

So in summary: bigger, plays better, lasts longer, looks darn nice on the iPhone and feels natural with the controls.

I'm sorry it took so long to get here, we hope you'll agree it's worth it when you see the full game. Please remember that's only a first gameplay teaser.

Ah nice. Will it look similar to the video on the iPhone? Seems like graphics far in advance of the unit's capabilities to me, but then again Mikko is a demoscene guy...

Mikko is a demoscene guy :)

Zen Bound looks like that on the device. No additional artificial marketing flavors added. The video compression does make it softer of course.

awesome.
