I'm glad all the "cave story ripoff" feedback didn't deter the overall goal of the project. I thought this game looked marvelous from the beginning and still does.

I played Zeit2 via Creator's Club along with a lot of the other Dream Build Play contenders. Zeit2 is one of the better entries, as it has tons of potential if it's fleshed out some.

zompocalypse: this looks like fun. metal slug like graphics + coop play + masses of zombies to kill.

zeit2:seems interesting. concept reminds me a little bit of "choke on my groundhog you dirty you b****** robots". but i dont own a x360...so not for me.

purity: cool graphic style blended with good music + fast and different gameplay.

caster: seems to be a fun 3rd person jump n run shooter. will this be freeware?

overgrowth: cool style. im curious when the first real gameplay screenshots or trailer will come.

Arthur Lee is a F** arrogant dickhead, but I admit he's got talent. The Underside is looking great, seems like a really big and ambitious project, I'm glad he's still working hard on it. I liked the rapping song at the end too! The pace of the game is a bit too fast! Or was just the video playing it at a faster speed? Dunno, whatever, keep it up, it's gonna be great.

the secret is that i play through the levels as quickly and recklessly excitingly as i can. the game isn't quite as "fast paced" if you're taking your time so don't be put off of it

Yeah, he does seem pretty arrogant! I have mixed feelings about the whole "I'm so indie" thing. Feels like it's detracting from the entire purpose of independent gaming, even if it is a half-joke. Still, The Underside looks awesome and like it's really coming into its own. I stopped following its development after his updates slowed over the summer, but I'm glad to see it's still making progress!

Zompocalypse looks crazy cool, can't wait to get my hands on it. Love the changing character portraits.

Zeit2 looks mighty cool, hope it has keyboard support.

I remember seeing Purity earlier in its development in the TIGS forums. I was a little skeptical about it at first, but it's certainly lookin' good.

Caster looks pretty cool. I guess I'm not too impressed because the Ikaruka-trance-laser-spikyhair aesthetic doesn't really appeal to me, and the gameplay doesn't look very skill-based.

I hate watching timelapse paintings like this cause they only succeed in making me uber jealous =P I never played the earlier Lugaru games but it certainly looks neat.

Purity looks awesome, but I can't help but feel they're ripping off the Cyberspace areas in the Dystopia mod for HL2 (floaty movement, using projectiles for faster movement, movement trails...).

lmao! The Underside is continuing to look excellent, also I too am glad the Cave Story flak didn't turn him away from working away on it. In fact him playing into it all with the Quote costume at 1:23, I think is hilariously awesome. Well played, lol. Can't wait for it man.

For some reason I'm really hyped that there's melee weapons in The Underside.

Zompocalypse looks fun. Though I'm wondering how the difficulty level will change with only one player...

Zeit 2 looks good, but I'm hoping that they'll implement the time travel system better. From the trailer, it just looks like the best thing to do is to "shoot yourself", which bombs the whole screen. I don't see any apparent benefit for "keeping yourself alive".

Purity looks like it could be an interesting 3d grappling hook type of game. Wonder what kind of theme the developers are going for. I honestly like the "abstract" feeling it gives off right now.

The trailer of Caster first reminded me of Megaman Legends. Unfortunately I have to agree with Quetz with the gameplay. It seems like you can simply run in one direction and spam the shot and jump key to dodge, hopefully the trailer doesn't represent it overall.

Hi there, nice to see zeit² previewed here. I designed the game and its in the dream build play 2008. So far it only supports XBOX 360. You can play the preview on community games, while the beta games are still up (not very long till the final release). While the time travel mechanism looks a little limited in the video, actually playing it will show you all of its variety and playing it can be very fast paced ;-) You can find out more about it on http://zeit2.bedenk.de

Cave Story ripoff looks poor now and possibly even more of a ripoff. That rap was terrible too! ouch on my ears!

Looking at the The Underside video I must say it looks like it rips off Cave Story just so very blatantly that it is even going to rip off its fame and likely surpass it.

In other words, it looks very, very great.

The Underside looks better than Cave Story. It is all I want.
