It has been announced recently that Anthony Flack is hard at work on his upcoming action-platformer Cletus Clay, which has been in development for several years now. Much like Platypus, all objects, backgrounds and sprites are made out of clay and animated using traditional stop-frame techniques (e.g. The Neverhood).

No mentions of any release dates yet.

OMFG, just through the likeness to Neverhood alone I'll have a good long bazz on this :3

Ooops. So it's not out yet. Well... Keep up the good work!

Platypus was the only game I ever pirated :( I feel bad about that and worse at the fact the game disappeared into oblivion and I can't even buy it legitimately any more.

AdamB, you can buy Platypus right here and know that your money goes to help Cletus!

And, not to scare you, but we'll be watching the stats to see if you buy it!

Big brother Cletus is watching.

Awesomeness.

Sillytuna, I thought Anthony lost all the rights to the game a long time ago..

Yeah, I don't think he'll be getting any of the money.

Also, glad this is finally going to get released! I've been waiting for years.

It looks like that store is owned by people working with anthony on cletus, so they get money for any games bought through it? In which case it might be better to buy a non-idigicon game off that site instead.

I've been waiting for a long time for this game. Let's hope it gets the market exposure and merits it deserves for being one of the most innovative approach to game development. Clay = Rocks

We sell Platypus through an affiliate agreement with Reflexive. Any games sold provide us with a few bucks which go towards development ;)

Will you release a patch or something that makes that Reflexive version of Platypus the ACTUAL intended version, with all the original levels and music? I know that it's not available anywhere at this point, but could a patch be made for fans? It stinks knowing that I'm not seeing what the author wanted me to see.

well kudos to anthony for managing to make this game after all the drawbacks.
seems very promising.
i hoper this thime he will get a better deal for the distribution.

"Clay = Rocks"

Tell that to a geologist. ;)

geologist
"well that is impossible...whole different substance...not same...plasticine...soft...rock...mountain...harrrrrd...
"

in response:
"well old wisely geologist consider this. just take a look at cletus clay and your whole world picture will be shaked to the ground.
clay...ROCKS!"

"..."

Making a game out of clay is hard enough. We're not going to make one out of rocks. How the bleedin hell would we animate the buggers?

This animation, it's a rock walking. And that one, it's a rock punching.

That one? Oh, you don't want to know about *that* one.

Oh go on. You know you want to really.

You could get Anthony to do an unofficial follow up to Platypus and call it...wait for it... Rock Lobster.

I'll get me coat.

Lets hope that Antony got some business sense since his last game!
