Freeware Game Pick: Lost in Eldritch (Joachim Despland)
Lost in Eldritch is a short 2D platformer created by Joachim Despland for TIGSource's Commonplace Book competition, featuring a protagonist who is stranded on an unfamiliar landscape with no memory of events leading up to his current predicament.
Use the cursor keys to move, press the Z key to jump, and hold the A key to walk slowly. The adventure itself is a short one, although most players would find the control scheme awkward and quit in frustration before reaching the end.

I loved this one. The control scheme I found very fitting, and the animations are very well done.

unfortuantly, whenever I pick up the red things I just get a blank white screen :( I assume im suppose to get text or something..other than that I rather enjoyed it - cool lovecraftian game.

Yeah - I have nothing against the control scheme - separate button to jump - everything is fine and dandy. The jumping physics might require a little getting used to with very high drag and low acceleration but aren't game breaking.

This is the author - thank you for your comments! The latest version of the game should have the problem with the white screens fixed. You can download it at the same link.

Are you going to expand it at all ? it has soooo much potential, and *feels* alot like what would happen if someone made a super metroid style game in the Cthulhu mythos!

There is a new expanded version up featuring sound and music among other things.
This is probably the last version I do before a while, but I do have plans for metroid-like game.
