Note: This is an unfinished build with no ending screen yet. There is no indication as to when the game will be completed (which is also the case with most of Ikiki's works).

Teppomanto is a new 2D action game created by the author of Nikujin and Teppoman, where players assume control over another naked assassin on a mission to infiltrate the enemy base and take out all adversaries within.

Use the cursor keys to move, press the left control key to attack or shoot, and hold the left shift key to jump. Tap the left or right arrow key twice to make your character run in either direction. If you dash near the edge of a platform and hold the shift key when in midair, the trained killer will extend his cape and attempt to glide slowly back to the ground. Press the down arrow key to open treasure chests or swap weapons.

Strangely enough, but not for the first time, the J key can also be used to commit suicide. You will also need to execute intricate wall jumps and reverse jumps to reach certain areas in the game. (unzip instructions, download mirrors)

fantastic...absolutely fantastic!
after a few seconds it was crystal clear: another fine platformer from ikiki.

like a sequel to nikujin.

tim, what do you think about the idea to make a special ikiki blog post which covers all the 44 games from the prolific ikiki with screenshot and a short description and rating...?
would be pretty useful i think.

Wouldn't want to steal any of Derek's thunder (and hard work) now. :)

The problem is that I tend to complete each game from start to end before writing about them (or in cases like this, I'll be playing them to completion anyway). So writing about Ikiki's stuff could be difficult, since some of his older games can be rather tough at times.

oh...i didnt know that derek is making such a list.

Ok... so how do I download it? I don't read Japanese.

Ok it is the first link in the table: http://ikiki.sokushinbutsu.com/himoji/game/teppomanto.lzh

Excellent game!
Does anyone know how to make it go fullscreen? F4 doesn't work.

just after you dash if you jump you can glide, if you are dashing and click on the other direction and jump you do a super jump.

avast! recognises it as a virus but I think it must be a false positive

In the green level 2 after beating the robot boss I can't find a way to progress past the place with an armour drop. Please help

I believe that this game has only 70% of the levels finished? I got to the end of the one blue level just to get to a black screen. It would be helpful if you mentioned that the game isn't complete.

Many of the sounds seem very familiar - like they're from other non-indie games...

I wouldn't be surprised if the game isn't finished (it is ver0.9 anyway), although I can't say for sure because I couldn't figure out how to get through this part yet.

Tim, try skidding off the edge and then jumping backwards whilst in mid-air.

Thanks, you guys are right - the game is still missing the final part. I'll edit the original post right away.

エンディングは間違いだったみたいで修正されたようですよ。

For those thinking about the sounds, some of them are from the basic sound libraries that come with the Clickteam Products.

I second what "Anonymous, December 1, 2008 2:45" said, my avast! calle pretty much all usable files in the .zip a virus.

Here's the thing about Teppomanto (if I'm not wrong) - any files named with Japanese text might possibly be considered a virus by avast!.

I had this experience before with another anti-virus program, but I'm not exactly sure if this is how avast! works as well.

Ah hah. Apparently Ikiki will not be finishing it, and that makes me sad. This one one of my favorites of his work.

What are those little brown things that make him make a monkey sound? Are those simply required to finish levels or are they used for something?

anyone have a mirror to grab this from?

Does anyone have the email address for Ikiki? I wonder if he would share the MMF2 source code for Teppomanto? I have the source code for his earlier shooters (Teppoman, Bimboman, and Teppodon) but he's made some nice improvements to this MMF2 platform engine.

The gun engine appears to be a simplified version of the Teppodon engine. In Teppodon you could hold up to three weapons at a time (rather than just one).

If anyone can help with either Ikiki's email address or the Teppomanto MMF2 source I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.
