Results for the 14th Annual Interactive Fiction Competition are out, with Violet, Nightfall and Everybody Dies grabbing top honors this year. All competition entries (and their respective interpreters) are available to download separately, or as a single 65 MB zip file from the IF Comp site. (source: Grand Text Auto)

why oh why don't you have a page that lists all the games in genre and platform?

why oh why?

Are you referring to IFComp entries, or the IndieGames site?

I'd love to give those interactive fiction games a go, but the sheer number of interpreters turns me off, why isn't there a standard, or rather 1 or 2 intepreters instead of 7?!

Gargoyle interpreter works for all file formats.

Violet is totally awesome. Very fun textventure game. But beware, it took me 2 hours to beat, and I couldn't pull myself away. Give yourself enough time to play it through, or make use of the save feature.
