This has to be the game I'm most anticipating right now, I think.

The comments in the Destructoid article are interesting.

Oh, it's this cult classic game for the SNES that was loved by so many and which I just somehow happened to miss out on, right?
Seriously, I'm impressed :)

If the gameplay of this little gem will be half as good as the beautiful visuals and music, this is going to be a masterpiece.
And a sidescrolling platformer that involves flying? Now that is obviously a Cave Story booster rip-off. :)

impressive! 2d awesomness!

I'm not a fan of the music. Sounds too 8-bit for the visuals.

Totally opposite on the music here. Just the right mixture of bleepy-blippyness to make you feel like you're playing a retro videogame, and an edge of more modern, orchestral-sounding arrangement and sampling.

Indie games and owls seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly.

I agree with YuRiPa. It seems like having NES music for an SNES game.

I was looking forward to this game when they first announced it.
Now it just looks like Aquaria except you fly and don't have cool transformation powers.

Snake's pixel art is second to none, but the gameplay looks like it has a ways to go before this game is worthy of the hype it's getting.

It looks decent, but the thing for me in this trailer was the music - the second it started playing I had a sudden urge to listen to Pokémon Red's musics. I like it, I like it.
If this is a mediocre 2D-platformer, then oh well, but if this is a good platformer with musics like that, then... awesome.

Is this Aquaria in the sky?
Pass...

Thanks for the comments everyone, and thanks for the mention, Tim!
Personally, I'm a fan of Aquaria, and I think it's such a wonderfully put together game- it really shows what a talented indie team can do!
But as far as Owlboy goes, the gameplay is more action oriented that Aquaria. To me, it's a mix between the old Zelda games and Mega Man. Oh yeah.. and you can fly ;)

Good to hear there you're going for more action in this game. It's looking very good so far.

This music is directly from the final stage of the old sega megadrive game Bubsy!!!
I hope they have permission to use it (or maybe its just for the trailer?)
