Assassin Blue is a 2D platformer with combat elements, consisting of twelve levels split evenly between four distinct areas to explore. In the game, players assume control over a sword-wielding hitman who must carry out a series of missions for his superior. This naturally translates to a lot of jumping, climbing and fighting as you make your way past hordes of henchmen leading up to the commander of each resistance group.

The entire adventure takes about an afternoon or two to finish. To use the high quality soundtrack instead of the standard MIDI tunes, simply download the optional 30 MB music add-on from the same page and unzip it into the game folder. An option to switch between the two will then appear just before the title screen is shown.

I'm instantly reminded of the main character from Braid when I see this screenshot.

Yeah it reminded me of the Braid character too, although it was just based on that screen, I still haven't played the game though, will try it later on

Ditto, hair colour, animation frame, that picture on the wall, all looks very much like the Braid guy.

Anyway, it sounds very interesting and looks that way, too, definitely going to try it :)

That's not the player character, though. "Blue" is the guy on the left. More screenshots if you click the link.

This game is very fun. Make sure you try out the music pack as well. It's worth it.

Also, there are bonuses that you can unlock for taking out certain numbers of targets which you buy from the main menu, including extra attacks, boss rush mode, and extra backstory scenes.

Thanks for putting this up, I doubt I would have ever seen it otherwise.

Wow, very surprised by how fun this game was. Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks so much for linking to this. Really enjoyed the game - in fact, it's inspired me to start LPing again.

What happens if you unlock everything and complete boss rush mode?

AHAHA! that liddle nigguh in da suit look like dat punk ass bustah from braid

Great game.
Pretty awesome story, if a bit cliched.

This was actually a lot more enjoyable than I was expecting it to be. Attacking can be a bit unresponsive at times, but that still wasn't enough of a drawback to take away from the fun of the overall gameplay, and it didn't really get in the way of battle either, so that's good.
Glad I tried it out.

None of the elements of the game are _amazing_, but they're all pretty good. Graphics, controls, gameplay, level design, storyline, that kinda stuff. It's definitely worth checking out.

Pretty fun. I wish there were more unlockables, though.

Enjoyable game and it has it's somewhat addictive.

Short, good control, easy to master, or you could say a nice casual game.
