Walkie Tonky is a physics-based action game where players get to guide a giant robot around a city and engage in the act of smashing buildings, vehicles, and all manners of defensive measures that the Earthlings have set upon you. There is only one level to play, but upon finishing it a separate challenge mode will be unlocked.

Note that no checkpoint system has been implemented in this build, and players are expected to retry the same stage from its starting point whenever they fail to beat the final boss.

This game looks pretty awesome. I really like the unique art style.

Wow, the game is looking pretty great. Was this submitted to the IGF? Because it should have! :D

Damn, looks great but the download is SLOW.I'm averaging 20 KB/sec. That's worse than most torrents -.-

Anyone else having slow download problems?

I didn't have any problems downloading it, it was rather fast actually.

Anyway, concerning the game itself, apparently when there's a building you're supposed to "grow" but it doesn't always work. :| Is there anything I'm missing?

Hmmm... I'm still having download problems. It's not my connection, I just tested it. Anyone know where the hosting server is?

Is there another download link that I can use?

I'm also having problems with downloading the game. It would be nice if someone could upload it somewhere else.

GODDAMMIT!

That's TWICE that my download has timed out due to slow download. Can someone PLEASE upload this thing somewhere else?

This is really fucking annoying.

Fuck this. If they can't get a decent server anywhere near civilization, then there games probably suck ass too.

I'm not gonna waste anymore of my time on this.

Ok clam down, see Tim made am mirror. LOL - From "Damn, looks great..." to "I'm not gonna waste anymore of my time on this." Have you problems?

Thanks very much Tim.

Thank God for that mirror. I downloaded it in 15 seconds flat. They have REALLY got to get a new server.

Man, how dare those game developers not accommodate your every whim? It's sickening!

Anyways, the game is awesome. Physics based games usually end up being too caught up in their physics, but games like this balance physics and traditional controls properly, and it's great.

Plus, the art and music are really charming.

Great game!

"Man, how dare those game developers not accommodate your every whim? It's sickening!"

I know, isn't it? When I demand faster download time, I want faster download time. How DARE they not cater to me!

Also, fuck you.

I kinda have to agree with Fishyboy's sarcasm up there... These people make games that you can download legally for free, and you're going to whine and moan about download speed? It's not like you paid for it, which is probably part of the reason it's so slow. They don't want to spend a bunch of money on a faster server, and get nothing back from it because the game is free.

@none:
It couldn't have been submitted because entry time had been closed by then. It's an incredible game, nonetheless. I've played it before, and I have to say, it makes EXCELLENT use of physics-based gameplay.

Yes it was submitted to the IGF. No luck though!

What needs to be mentioned in this article is that the game is under development. I will definitely be on the lookout for the finished product since this has been pretty fun to play, and is pretty innovative, and also it's a giant robot that smashes things. (101101110 SMASH!)
