Freeware Game Pick: DungeonMinder (Adam Gatt)
In DungeonMinder, you play as an invisible fairy tasked with assisting an adventurer as he makes his way into the catacombs in search of treasure. This requires casting spells which immobilize enemies, increase the adventurer's stats or even change the shape of dungeon walls and floors.
Casting spells require one of the three types of mana, with a list of nine spells readily available for review at the press of the tab key. You regain mana by staying in close proximity to the hero, and whenever you are out of range the power text will change color from white to red.
DungeonMinder is actually one of the more innovative games to come out of the recent 7DRL challenge, but a bug that causes the hero to stop moving after opening a random treasure chest is the only reason preventing this roguelike from getting on the recommended list. (source: zolyx.co.uk)

It seems as though my 'hero' has become poisoned, yet the 'heal' command does not remove said poison. (His health bar turns a different color, and has an 'X' at the end of the bar, also, health gradually decays over time)
Is there no way to cure said poison?

I think what you're referring to isn't actually poison. You remove that X by descending down the stairs to the next dungeon level.

The X is from him getting health capping armor, I believe. I think the artifacts he finds in the dungeon are all negative. Anyway, the bug mentioned in the above post seems to be a pathfinding issue related to earthquake scrolls. If you clear a straight, linear path from the hero to his next objective, he'll start moving again.

I would like to thank everyone who has played my game! Also IndieGames for the unexpected attention! I have had a lot of fun making this game, partly due to the time constraint of the 7drl challenge and partly because I found myself honestly enjoying the game when I was playtesting it. Credit has to be given to the libtcod library, which made development much, much easier.
Congratulations to whoever can manage to reach the boss fight, and apologies for how hard it is to reach it. Personally I haven't been able to beat the game just yet... but I've gotten very close!

Excellent idea for a roguelike!
I enjoyed it immensely, Adam I hope you plan to expand it beyond the scope of 7drl game :)
