King is a retro 2D platformer where players would have to assist a sovereign in acquiring as much points as he can, simply by jumping and stomping on the enemies found in each level. There are basically only two keys to remember in addition to the cursor keys for movement. Pressing the Z key causes the king to jump, and if he manages to stomp on something during this action he will bounce much higher than a normal hop. Hold the down arrow key during a jump to reduce the jump height. A super jump can be executed by pressing the jump button just when the king's feet touches the head of an enemy. You can also use the Q key to restart a level if you happen to get stuck. (direct download link, gameplay video)

very fun game, manage to get to lvl 24 in the first try, but didn't know that the down arrow make me reduce the jump lol
gonna try again tomorow

pretty addictive, great SNES style arcade game!

Managed to get to lvl 76 and lost all my lifes, after that i think i lost more 40 lifes til the final boss.

very frustrating.. not sure i like the physics in this game.

still a very cute game..

I can't play it :(
I'm runing on vista, but appear an error :(
somebody help me please:'(

I had the same issue.
You have to download the following dll: d3drm.dll.
I found the dll here.

Put the dll file in the same folder of the game.
Tell me if you solve the issue.

The King appear to be moving in slow motion. Is that intentional, or just my system?

Fun but maddening.

I've got vista, and the game runs a lot slower than the gameplay video. Any tricks to get it to run at the right speed?

thanks for the .dll link.

i'm on vista, i played around with a few settings, but not sure which ones fixed the slowdown:

put it in XP SP2 compatible mode,
opened IniKaeru.exe,
flicked settings to 16 bit, system memory, fps 60 off and turned the bottom slider down.

Try SURFACE -> system memory instead of video memory.
It works for me! ;)

It's a shame that such nice games are not released for macintosh.

Level 65 and it crashed...
