The Favored is basically a remake of robotfindskittens with some changes to the original rules, created by Joseph for the 7 Day Roguelike Challenge. The game involves collecting rabbits by walking over them, then depositing enough of the creatures at the exit point so that the passage to the next level can be opened.

You can only carry a maximum of four rabbits while walking around, and there is also the danger of accidentally grabbing the one bunny that has the power to strike you down. Had the game included some element of strategy to increase the chances of avoiding the all-powerful bunny, then Joseph could have a winner in his hands.

I'm glad this game got a nod.

In my defense, there is a small element of strategy in the game in that you can carry a number of rabbits from one level to the next, but the probability of picking a favored gets worse so that your chances actually get better as you move to the next level. So do you risk death by staying on the level you're on or jump to the next to improve your odds?

I tried to drive this point home by having the probability of picking a favored in front of you at all time. What I don't show until you die or win is the cumulative probability.

Of course there's really only one best answer, and it pretty much matches what I'm guessing most people are doing.

I thought it was clever and funny. It was pretty much luck based, since the ideal strategy doesn't take too long to figure out, but that's how a lot of 7drls are anyway.
