It's time for some Thursday balancing fun! Take your typical 'take all these objects and turn them into a tower' game, inject lots of cats and watermelons and hey presto, you're playing Cat Cat Watermelon!

Initially created as a Ludum Dare entry with fellow contestants haXe and physaxe, Cat Cat Watermelon is a must-play because a) fitting slices of watermelon between cats ears is just so darn cute, b) the victory music is too catchy for its own good and c) when you complete a level, your tittering tower of tabbies is demolished in the most satisfying manner.

Play it now on Lexaloffle.

For that type of game, this is unusually excellent!
Unexpectedly varied, very charming, kickass "level complete" bar. Fun!

I can't tell if you're being serious there, but haXe is a programming language (that can compile to flash). physaxe is a physics library for haXe.

@Anon: Well it doesn't seem fair to give one man all the credit when Mr and Mrs axe did all the work :)

So cute and oddly fantastic at the same time.

I didn't really have a big problem solving any of the levels. But Level 20, damn.. there can't be more than a single perfect solution.

This is a pretty fun little distraction! Also: something about this game, and I cannot quite place my finger on it, is truly charming.

Perhaps it's how the cats blinking is literally random?

Ha, with the proper strategy even level 20 wasn't hard.

I'd say this is my favorite one of the physics-based tower (de)construction games for several reason. On the one hand it's the charm of those cute kittens, mixed with the absurdity of stacking fruit and other stuff along with them. But these objects actually work very well for the gameplay, as they are so different. Mainly the cats' shape is quite interesting. Perfectly stacking cats is nearly a little game of its own, and trying out different combinations, turning the cats upside-down, etc., is rather interesting.
And lastly that "level complete" bar is so simple, yet also very cool. It smashes into your tower so suddenly, along with the instantly appearing music. It just feels good :)

Once, for just a split second, I actually thought "Oh no, my tower is breaking again!" as the bar smashed into it, just a tiny moment before I realized that I've completed the level :D

Yeah, great little game.
