Spewer is a new physics-based platformer created by the prolific Edmund McMillen and Eli Piilonen, featuring music by Gravity Hook and Meat Boy music composer Daniel Baranowsky. You are in control of a test subject named Spewer, who must escape from the clutches of a scientist by surviving all fifty-five rooms inside a maze-like laboratory, one level at a time.

Spewer's ability to regurgigate and consume bodily fluid will be called upon frequently, as you attempt to make it past the traps and obstacles that had been placed cleverly to halt your escape. The first few stages also act as sort of a tutorial, where you will be put through your paces under the watchful eye of your observator. Note that there is a limit to how much fluid your body can store and spew out, so if you empty the tank completely then you'll have to eat food or even your own vomit before being allowed to regurgigate any further.

Due to the heavy use of liquid physics, the game might probably run a bit slow on some browsers. To counter this problem, Edmund has included a link to the download version on the title screen which should work better on older machines.

A secret chapter with additional stages is unlocked automatically once you've completed the original five story chapters. The game also features a map editor that can be used to create and share new levels of your own design with other players. (source, preview, direct download link)

On my (Vista) computer, holding down the mouse button will bring up a circle around the mouse arrow (and the context menu in case I happen to move the mouse). The spewing begins 3-4 seconds after holding the left mouse button down with the mouse still.

Ergo: The game is unplayable for me. Too bad, it looked good.

Hi,

I'm not using Vista but surely there must be some way to avoid this problem.

a little slow but great concept and fun

Amazing game. I love it.

I'm using Vista x64 with absolutely no problems. Try updating your flash maybe?

It was pretty fun, but some bits of it seemed too clumsy for its own good. The floaty foam was fun, but spotty and a bit temperamental. I got to a level where it took a bit of trouble just to get the stuff, and then ended up trapping myself out of the reach of what I had used and just said, "Forget it."

I liked it, even though I found it to be pretty difficult.

God, I wish ppl would remember there are ARROW KEYS on a keyboard.

Finally Eli(2dArray), congrats!

yes please ,remember the arrow keys ... or at least remember the possibility for the user to change it .

as a user of an azerty keyboard ,I had to stop to play the game at level 3 just because of the hassle it is to just reach the keys .

you ruined it for every non-qwerty users of the planet.

ben stfu and buy a normal keyboard like everyone else

anon please !!!!!!!!!

It works now! It just didn't work with my Wacom pen. :)

This is a fantastic game.

This game is good, the mechanics are fun, but it is pretty evident that the creators did not playtest, or at least that they want players to suffer.
Even when the "puzzle" of how to beat the level is solved, it takes countless tries to actually carry it out.

There are certain jumps that should be assisted by having blocks, if you ask me.

Managed to get all the medals, very nice game, couldn't expect nothing less from Edmund

Really enjoyable game right here, stuck on 2nd to last level though.

Doesn't Edmund just do the art? Part of me hates that guy and I don't really know why.

Edmund is does design and art... i also hate him, but mostly because hes gay

Was stuck on the last level (of the secret chapter) FOREVER. Almost gave up until I realized (spoiler?) you just have to hold the jump button down at the bottom part as you move left. Fun game!

Take a look at his blog and you'll know why you intrinsically dislike him. In an era where almost anything goes, he's still utterly perverted. He's also seemingly unable to make a game without trying to be as disgusting as possible, a strange thing since when his games are good, they're -really- good and need no gimmicks.

WASD and the mouse is a much more comfortable layout than arrow keys and the mouse.

Anyone who doesn't like Edmund McMillen needs to play Coil and Aether and then shut the fuck up. The guy is a mad genius.

True dat

I make games because i enjoy making them, i use the themes i use because thats what i find interesting... if i was just trying to be gross for gross sake then all my games would be more graphic then cunt.

i dont see my themes as a gimmick, i seem them as unusual and interesting. its bizarre to me that anyone would find my themes to be that strange.. seeing as they are living humans who eat, shit, piss, cum, die and rot. these are elements of life that arnt as exposed as others, there for i find them interesting and inspiring.

Hey Edmund. I think your little game is t'rrifiK.Is the floating foam cum? I only ask that cos I'm trying to get to grips with all the "elements" you speak of and award myself stars when I find them. Not a lot of people expose SNOT or EAR WAX - are they hidden in there somewhere. I think I love you - will you have my babies?

the WASD keys are the greatest

Totally love this game, stuck on The Crux in chapter 5, super hard. trying to get past acid phase.

i use vista and it works fine my fav game anyone know of a game like it?
