Interstellar Marines Community Site Launch
Zero Point Software have been working on Interstellar Marines for quite some time now with little word on how it's all going. The last trailer for their upcoming FPS, Sci‐fi, action and adventure game was released waaay back in 2006.
Now a new update to the official site is coming this Friday which will add a community 'enlistment' feature. There's no word on whether this will be a simple community site or something more - for example, beta sign up - nor is there any update on a release date.
Set in the future, it will feature singleplayer or up to four players cooperative, custom game modes featuring arcade, RPG and tactical elements, a "captivating storyline with heavy focus on realism" and non‐linear gameplay.
It looks like graphically Interstellar Marines is shaping up rather well - well, that's from the 3 seconds of gameplay footage in the above recently released trailer. If you're looking to get more of a feel for the game, try the original trailer.
Be sure to check out the site on Friday for what's going down.

Game looked pretty polished back in 2006, looks like they will have a solid game when it is finally released.

Oh yet-another-space-marine-game, you had me at hello...
*swoon*
Why doesn't this genre get old? Or am I the only one...

I dunno...space marine games are awfully tired, but this has just the right concept for me to be quite interested. Not to mention the marines themselves look like people, and not 8 feet tall bald musclemen.
Oh, and land sharks.

Main problem of all space marine games is that they all are not realistic. I know, that very realisctic game probably would be boring, but hell! There is no one at all to say for sure! Or am I not right?

How can a space marines game be realistic?

By realistic I think he means something more believable. Unlike 40K marines who are 8 feet tall, have three lungs, two hearts, night vision, rib cage of steel, etc. I'm thinking more like Stargate, but maybe without the stargate.

By realistic I meant something close to "No War, or Battle Sound" by Harry Harrison.

Nice news, i saw this game some years ago too. Looked good, as now, i thought it was dead as Sega's colonial Marines. Zero Point Software is an indie dev? wow.
Space marines games are great in my opinion: x-com, space hulk, aliens(fps), FireWarrior (as a Tau you actually fight the marines lol) not to mention rts (starCraft Dawnofwar)..
Too bad that Doom 3 was a total shit, while Quake 4 was ok but the aliens so 'humanoid' ruined a lot the game, while etqw was pure shit too.
i ll check it out this new game on space marines.. ;)

You know, I'm not a big fan of photorealistic graphics when it game to making a game with my own graphical style.
See Wii for an example.

What the hell!? Those trailers were shit! Half of them were logos and crappy phrases like "you will believe" before showing the character models from a bunch of different angles before going into a split second montage of a first person shooter (that could be any shooter).
Please release a trailer that actually explains something or you'll get no excitement from me. The project could be promising though, the models look good and it definitely looks high budget, even if it wasn't.
