Paperworld

Lately I've been doing a bit of research on the entries submitted to this year's Swedish Game Awards, and had picked out a couple of notable submissions with interesting trailers that might pique your interest (or at the very least, amuse).

Bloodline Champions: Multiplayer action game.

Sanctum: Tower defense game, a total conversion mod for Unreal Tournament 3.

Lawnmower Challenge: Grass-cutting puzzle game. With power-ups.

Haven & Hearth: An MMORPG focused on life simulation and strategy.

Labyrinthos Gold: Bomberman-style arena action game.

Underwater Mayhem 2: A multiplayer racing game, set under the sea.

Vertigo: Platform racing game.

Snow Hard: A snowball fight action game. (demo available)

Others: The Fantastic Revenge, Imperii (demo available), A Day at the Office, Testament, A Common Pulse.

More videos here.

Great to see some news from SGA! Some pretty interesting entries this year indeed!

My personal favorite is thewreck's Jet Engine Night.
He's got a thread covering the devolpment over at TIGsource.

Bloodline champions = DOTA amazing :)

of all those videos the first one, Paperworld, seems the most interesting. Underwater Mayhem 2 and Snow Hard also look pretty cool.

The guys who are making Bloodline Champions are the same guys who work on DoTA: Allstars, I believe.

Not sure about anyone from DoTA working on Bloodline, you might be thinking of League of Legends?

Either way, Bloodline Champions does look like it could be some pretty fun and competitive gameplay.

Good selections, definitely some creative stuff there.

Great entries, bravo Sweden!

Hey guys, glad to see that some people are interested in our game :D. I'm one of the developers of Bloodline Champions. None of us are working on either League of Legends or DoTA, though we have gotten some inspiration from DoTA amongst other games.

If anyone have any questions about the game I'm more than willing to answer them :)

how's about when can we play for a question :D?

bloodline champions is awsome, i have played it :)

Wow, those seem to be some quality games there.

I am very interested in Haven & Earth. It seems to combine many elements from Ultima Online and reminds me a bit of what I liked about Tibia. The latter is a highly basic free MMORPG that I used to play when I was younger. I find it interesting now, but I still like how interactive the world is, and for example how you can farm wheat and ultimately bake bread with it in a nice little cycle. Haven & Earth seems to be a whole game more or less based on this, so I'm going to try it out :)

Huh. In Haven & Earth, the guy was putting a lot of iron inside an "Ore Smelter"
Either I'm missing something or that's some nice mixing of swedish and english.

Smälta (swedish for 'melt') + Melter = Smelter!

@sockpuppet: We are aiming for releasing a beta at the end of the summer, though i cant promise it :)

@MisterX: I'm very happy to see such words being spoken of my Haven. :)

I just thought I'd add that Haven & Hearth is quite playable in its present condition. To be sure, there's a lot of more or less critical stuff missing (foremost among them being a quest system, which we're currently working on), but it's quite possible to register and try it out.

Bloodline Champions is my favourite too. Really promising game and the devs look really committed to achieve their goal. With a little support(although i think that the game will not need any since it will probably rock) i can also get into WCG
