A prologue chapter for Tale of Tales' horror game The Path is now available for download from the official site and several other download mirrors. In The Path - Prologue you control the Girl in White, who originally acted as a guide whenever any of the six sisters from the full game got lost in the forest.

Both Windows and Mac users can try out the free 50 MB demo, although much of the content found in The Path has been stripped out for this version (including the exploration part inside Grandmother's House).

The Path - Prologue will be playable on Steam starting tomorrow.

“The Path - Prologue”, a new chapter. Free. (Tale of Tales)

While collecting all 144 flowers might do something in the full game, it does nothing in the demo. I've spent half an hour hunting the 143th one, and one more hour on the final one. Give me my time back! :)

Oh, and the girl's animations are pretty bad. I didn't mind at first, but you can imagine what happens after staring at them for two (or was it three?) hours. Judging from the videos, the animations in the actual game are way better. My point is that this demo is hardly representative of the game.

[spoiler?]Collecting them all does nothing in the full game either.[/spoiler?]

Thanks for the tip x_x !

I spent a little over an hour getting to 143, then was dismayed to discover that the game had forgotten my previous position when I started it up again the next day.

Your post saved me putting in another 2 hours, only to be frustrated.
