Of course, it was already obvious that the Xbox 360 was going to be at least one platform of choice for Polytron's upcoming title Fez due to the ickle A buttons displayed on past screenshots.

Now Phil Fish has announced that their incredible-looking platformer will be coming to an Xbox near you early next year. I don't know about you, but I think I'll be using permanent marker to scribble the word BUSY across the entirety of early 2010 on my calendar. Check here if you can't remember why this is seriously one to watch out for.

Someone explain to me what the fuss is about Fez, it looks alright but not the best game in the world.

And an even bigger question, why the hell is it taking so long to make it? It's not exactly Crysis 2.

hey, the underside and my current game are taking 3+ years; iji and cave story and glum buster many other games took around 3-5 years each. just because a game isn't cutting edge graphically doesn't mean there isn't a lot of work that goes into them.

that said, i also don't know much about fez except that everyone likes it. from the videos it looks okay though, looking forward to it, will try it out if it has a PC version.

I rewatched the trailer on from indiegames link. That thing says 2009. Let's hope that the PC version is up for late 2009 (though I doubt it).

No, the 2009 date in our "Trailer 2" was our tentative release window. Now it's early 2010, and the platform is XBLA. Don't expect anything before that one.

Will there be a pc release at some point?
Please?

XBLA, come on, what's with PC, I hope it gets out on PC!

Oh man. If this turns into another Braid thing where I have to wait 6+ months to play it just because I don't have an Xbox, I'll be upset.

As a side note--Paul Eres! Any news on your next game? Immortal Defense is still one of the best TD's I've ever played so I'm really interested in whatever your current project might be.

If it's an indie-funded game on XBLA, then MS will be the 'publisher' and will insist on a window of exclusivity against other platforms in their contract. It's that or not be on the service :)

In other words, expect 'another Braid thing'.

The other reason to expect "another Braid thing" is that XBLA games don't get pirated. Not that Polytron have ever said this was a motivation, but if it was I certainly wouldn't blame them.

I don't mind waiting six months. Braid didn't get any worse while I was waiting. Don't expect Fez will either. ;-)

hi Chetyre, thanks for the complement.

my next game is Saturated Dreamers, been working on it since ID was released (on and off) -- you can follow progress of its development on my livejournal (rinku.livejournal.com) or the tigsource.com forums thread (a thread in the devlogs subsection) -- lots more info in those places

I don't have an xbox, but like Dom Camus said, i think its way better than this game get out to xbox way before than the pc version because of the pirated related stuff.

Since I don't have a 360, so this is a bit of a disappointment for me. I guess it makes sense for Polytron to go this route (and I suspected this may be the case)... but it doesn't make the extra wait for us impatient PC gamers much more bearable!
