monk.JPG

A Mazing Monk is a rotating puzzle game created by a team of students at DADIU. A monk is on the path to becoming a Buddha and it's your job to help him collect all the karma he needs while dodging the evil soldiers.

The monk can move around the top of the cube as long as there are no obstacles in the way. Clicking on the edge of the cube will cause that section to rotate around, creating a new path for the monk. However, if a path is forged connecting a band of soldiers to our religious friend, they will destroy him without thinking twice.

It's a nice idea and really good fun, but is a little on the short side with only 3 levels to play. However, once you've completed those 3, there's a 'Hard Mode' down in the bottom left with contains another 3 levels dedicated to making sure you don't succeed.

Give it a try.

What plugin does this require? Firefox tells me a plugin is required, but then lists none as available.

Unity webplayer plugin is required

Very sweet game! I love the credits and the music... :D

So do I just fail at reading instructions or is there really no way to spin the cube?

The reason there are only three levels is simple: That's what the students were told to do (that is, no more and no less than three levels) :) i was on the team which did Puzzletive Garden - http://puzzletive.com/ - and not connected with A Mazing Monk just to say i'm not blowing my own horn... i just happen to think (as did just about everybody on the May production) that this was the most polished of all the games :)

Dom - There is no way to spin the cube. It was a condition from DADIU that the game was a fixed camera game.

Very well made. Great to play. Lack of music in the game (apart from main menu) spoils the Buddhist-like atmosphere (it's a pity because menu's track is very good).
Interesting background for a casual game. Red soldiers vs Buddhist monk. Disappointing ending. Do creators think that it's about turning soldiers into monks and that's the way it will be? I thought that once Buddha comes to the cube and enlightens small soldiers they will see what they haven't seen yet and lose their weapons. Not exactly start killing each other to eventually turn into monks.

Unity 3D game. Who doesn't love Unity? :)

Nice game, but a little unplayable.

I think the creators have the right to do what they want with the game.
Objecting things against our personal beliefs ends being more destructive than we think.

Well done game, shame about the length, even though I understand that it was a requirement.

And monks VS soldiers? Who cares. For fuck's sake, we have indie dev specializing in fecal jokes around here, and you guys complain about a political theme?

decent game, political statement aside.... it could be a little clearer

and this puzzletive garden game is decent, controls are pretty weak but the concept is interesting, I like it.

Ah, that's why Firefox listed no plugins: there's no player for Linux. :(
