Solar Plexus is a puzzle platformer created by the developer of the Noitu Love series, where you are in control of a female protagonist sent to investigate the sudden communication silence from a certain space colony. Most of the challenges in the game require the player to manipulate blocks using the mouse and navigate around obstacles placed deliberately to hinder their progress forward.

Weapon ammo is limited to just fifty shells as well, but you can replenish this stock by left-clicking on ammunition blocks resting somewhere in most levels. Some doors will only open after you've placed purple blocks in specially marked areas, while other locations are only accessible by creating your own platforms with the blocks.

This is an unfinished version of the full game, containing nine levels to play in total. Joakim has no plans to continue developing it, and is considering the project an abandoned one.

You make my abandoning it sound so cold... :(

The presentation is incredible, and the concept is great except the simplest of tasks is made infuriatingly difficult due to the incredibly slippery nature of the controls.

I find I can't grab onto and pull myself up onto a block reliably at all. For one, you have to be actively pushing into a block with the arrow key as you pass the exact pixel boundary where the grab 'activates' and you hold onto the wall. This isn't so bad. I do tend to just push into the block a little bit too early, and then let go of the key before the grab activates, and this means I miss a lot of grabs and have to jump up again.

Then, instead of just continuing to push into the wall to pull up, you have to press the Up key as well. Again, this isn't so bad.

The bad part is that once this happens, you have to move across as this is not an automatic part of the climb up action. This shouldn't be tooooo bad, however the incredibly slippery nature of the platforming means that 9 times out of 10 I fly straight over the block. The spinning animation of the character upon pulling up onto a block doesn't help.

I kinda wish the character would just vault up onto the block (not with a jumping action!) if I am pressing up and across into the block as I'm grabbing it. If I just press up I should jump up in case there's another block higher, and if I press down I should let go and fall off.

It doesn't seem like a huge problem to be complaining about in this much depth but sadly the smallest issue like this is preventing me from passing the second screen of the second level, which is a huge pity because I think I'd really enjoy the rest of the game.

I just wish the platforming wasn't so slidey! Low friction jumping/walking along with precision platforming is a painful and frustrating combination.

I don't really understand why the game is so frictionless- it simply takes control away from the user. It seems to be a personal taste though.

My 2 cents! I hope others have a better experience with the game than I have because it really does look quite spectacular.

Common complaint, but most people played past the time I didn't go back to the game, so it was never fixed.

Nooooooooooooo!!!

It breaks my heart that he isn't finishing this one. It's my favorite...

I didn't think konjak could be so heartless as to abandon one of his children.

It will all be worthwhile so long as it was abandoned so that Ivory Springs could be returned to and completed... right? Please??

Seconded! If you're abandoning this one, it means that you can return to Ivory Springs :D

My first impressions: It's done!, *reads title*, It's free!, *reads 1st comment*, Uh-oh he didn't finish it -.- Sorry konjak but you do release a lot of prototypes. :P

Thirded vote to work on Ivory Springs. Really nice presentation with this one, but I wasn't quite feeling it the way i was with ivory springs that game just has such an interesting world!

It pains me to see konjak abandon another project that he has so much work put into it, all the art, programing, sounds, ect. Ivory Springs was awesome, it made me want more, and loved Legend of Princess for the fun arcadish action it was too.

On the side, I had read while ago on konjak's site the way he described Solar Plexus, it seems more like he was experimenting with his abilities/using it as practice. Then reading konjak's reasons for stopping the project...it worries me that it seems he might keep doing this to projects: where he works on something, stops to break off from it, but then goes back and decides to just scrap it completelly.

Also hard to beleive it's already been a year?(konjak said it has been a year since he opened the file to even work on it...); time moves too fast.

what radnom said.
But it's always very inspiring to play Konjaks stuff. Hands down the best indie-artist imo. Not only in drawing, spriting and animation but he also has a really good eye for details and effects. All his stuff have a very "professional" touch.

that was alright but not as great as another abandoned project, invory springs....

Thanks guys.

I just released Ivory and this to see the people's reactions to the games, I always (and many others) have projects we shelve, I just decided to show two in a row. Ivory was abandoned long ago, in 2007.

And Princess was always finished!!

I'm glad you decide to release unfinished games instead of keeping them to yourself, like many others do.

Amazing job as always! The only thing I don't like is the purple color. I hate purple.

Keep it up, man!

Ugh... i hate that Kid. I wish i would have been as good as he is when i was his age. Heck, i wish i was now! :-D

Aw, I hope your next projects will be finished. I remember when you announced Solar Plexus as your next game...
It's a pity you didn't "feel" it. However, don't force yourself to do anything if your heart tells you otherwise, I say.

Anyways - the heroine has nipples on her suit like Batman in the infamous Batman & Robin. ;-)

Wow he seemed really intent on finishing this one. Personally I didn't like it, even though I like almost all of his other games. Hmmmm..
