Trailer: VVVVVV (Terry Cavanagh)
Don't be fooled by the lo-fi graphics - Terry Cavanagh's upcoming action/puzzle platformer VVVVVV will be spectacularly awesome. But what's up with the recent trend of naming indie games using only one alphabet? (high quality video)

Every video I see for this game makes me more excited for it. Awesome soundtrack, too.

Yeah, where are Greek, Cyrillic and Arabic letters in these names? Latin is so Roman Empire.

As long as they stop before they get to "XXX" it's all fine. ;-)

Gentleman, we have classic coming. BTW did only for me enemies remind those from Speccy games like Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, Dynamite Dan etc?

Maybe the "VVVVVV" is for all those spikes?
Very nice Mega Man-esque music, by the way!

Looks great. I'm assuming it will be downloadable, as opposed to flash?

Best. Music. Ever.
The game looks great, too. I think VVVVVV is kinda like arrows pointing down... i.e. the whole gravity mechanic.

The great music goes very well with the game! The game looks fairly challenging too. Something I'd probably die a lot on, lol.

So this is Jet Set Willy with gravity flipping?

Looks pretty fun, but I can't help but wonder when the Atari/C64/other old console graphics fad will end.

Bob:
No reason the "Atari/C64/other old console graphics" fad should end. There is room in the game world (especially indie) for _many types_ of graphics including what you mentioned.

Seems more like people use "old-looking graphics are cool" as an excuse to be lazy with graphics.

Go for it, Anonymous!

i'm pretty fine with any style of graphics as long as it isn't "new-age 8-bit."
because that has gone too far.

I thought the name 'VVVVVV' represented rotating the gravity, moving up and down and back up and so on. Like if you follow the lines, because the 'V's kind of make it look like a zigzag, that's what I though anyway. :D

I kinda assumed v would be the switch gravity button. Thus the spamming it.
