GunFu Deadlands is a 2D arcade shooter in which you play a cowboy out to prove that he is the quickest sharpshooter in the West. Similar to Max Payne and the recent Call of Juarez series, our hero has the uncanny ability to react faster than everyone else, although he can only use bullet time in short bursts. The outlaws are no slouches as well, and if you're not behind cover the moment everything returns to normal, you will be shot down like a deck of stacked playing cards blown away by the wind.

The game also features a hard mode, where players are only allowed the use of one life to beat all ten stages included in the game. GunFu Deadlands also works on a Mac, but you will have to download both the LÖVE 2D engine and the game executable to run it. (source: cactus)

Awesome graphics and animations!! Very Cactus style! :)
The game is very hard and the enemies are smart and fast.
Keep up the good work.

Good hard game. But jump for now is almost useless. You can activate bullet time without jumping, but if you jump - you can't change direction in the air. Maybe, if there was possibility to dodge bullets while jumping, or just move little faster in the air, it would be usefull.

Pretty good, but I got impatient. I think I spent most of my time waiting for the bar to fill up. That and the clipping issues with the character, he's far too wide and I kept going into a slo-mo dive and finding that I'd got stuck on a fence.

Wow, my game here! Thanks for the feedback, it's very encouraging. I'm glad that you guys liked it. Now I'll have to polish it a bit more, hehe. Your suggestions are very welcome, I'll try to improve the areas where you are finding problems (jumping mechanic, bullet time, character width). Thanks a lot!

The only problem i found is that you HAVE to use bullet time if you wanna shoot someone and not die, maybe do the bullet time recharge more fast?

Someone needs to record a speedrun and put it up on youtube.

to Christiaan:
Should we wait for level editor, random generated levels and multiplayer? ^_^ It's not a joke, I really want to see this.

to me:
Well, I killed many people without bullet time.

I use a touchpad so i don't have a middle mouse button. I could dive to beat a few levels but the shotguns were impossible to dodge.

to Anonymous:
You can use right mouse/touchpad button.

It was an IMPRESSIVELY FUN game until the last two levels. Then it becames frustrating, and based much more on luck than on strategy. I think the last two levels destroyed the game for me - it would be perfect without them.

aah like it, but...reflex...OH SHIT THERE'S A BULLET TIME MECHANISM >_

HAH

wow - nice game man - I second the request for randomly generated levels! keep up the great work.
