At the recent TIGJam, a number of indie developers took centre stage on live webcam to give short rants about whatever they felt necessary to rant about. The above video is a recording of the session and features 5 minute talks from the likes of Alec Holowka, Adam Atomic, David Hellman, Tommy Refenes and Derek Yu.

wow, this was very good.
I thoroughly enjoyed it. Everyone had interesting things to say the concise 5 minute format. The topics ranged much farther from gaming than I anticipated, and I am glad for that. Overall a very interesting collection of rants.
But 40 minutes? seriously?
I feel like a loser for watching all of it.

oh, and I forgot to say, kinda funny how the person to talk about confidence was the only one with notes.
Thanks for posting the vid.

Adam was talking about non changing worlds. I remember Black and White actually having a very subtle erosion mechanic that could easily go unnoticed. I remember having to deal with some random land slides from boulders falling from their nooks after many "years" of a level.

Yeah, I was pretty nervous while giving a talk about confidence. It kind of makes sense, as I was talking about my own lack of confidence. :P (amongst other things)

Ugh. Please don't use these video streaming services - they don't work in the rest of the world. There's no way to watch them in real time on the lower end of "broadband" and even if your line is fast enough the latency usually still affects it. And unlike other services you have to stream it, so you can't make it start, then pause it so that the video caches. So there's just no way to watch these things outside of the first world.

sick, these were great. cheers.

@lerouxb

I second that. Actually, its pretty hard to watch it from anywhere that is far from the delivery network, since latency becomes an issue.

Anyway, great video.

Who's the guy who started at 15:31?

@Joe:
Adam Atomic (great talk)

These were great. I loved the one about confidence, indie gamers U.N.I.T.E.!

Dyslexics UNTIE!

I really enjoyed listening to these talks. That is all. :)

That was fascinating. Thanks for the vid! Even if it was a bit jittery on my donkey balls connection.

This was a very inspirational bit! Cheers all participants!
