Trailer: Ripple Dot Zero (Pixeltruss Games)
According to the Pixeltruss team, inspiration for Ripple Dot Zero includes the likes of Sonic The Hedgehog, Strider, Alien Soldier, Ristar and Gunstar Heroes, and this is "what you’ve been missing since the end credits of Sonic & Knuckles". Big words! Let's hope they can make with the goods.

Even the music screams Sonic. I'm pumped for this.

Visually stunning. I can clearly see the inspiration from Sonic. Well, now Sega should take some inspiration from this.

Looks impressive, but Sonic and Knuckles impressive? Color me questionable on that. The soundtrack is slick though.

Great character and level designs!

What does "dot" mean? Rip-off? 3d Dot Game Heroes rips off zelda, this rips off sonic...hmmm.

Looks like Sonic in slow motion. I don't see the strider, alien soldier, or gunstar heroes at all. Nice music, but that's about it.

Nicely drawn but oddly charmless for me. It all looks so cold and clinical.
Hopefully the game will overcome that though.

I like it, reminds me of Bonesaw. At first I disliked the look of the character, but with that helmet he's nicely reminiscent of GizmoDuck, hehe. Also, boomerang-like weapons are always nice.
Actually, it really doesn't look original at all, but polished and fun. I wonder if it's also varied.

Sonic The Hedgehog, Strider, Alien Soldier, Ristar and Gunstar Heroes... why not Pulstar?

Looks awesome.... will have to see if it is fun or not though.
But it has what I loved about the old Sonic games: levels with moving layered backgrounds, giving that awesome impression of depth and movement.

Cant see whats seems so great about this game.
Music is good, and the backgrounds are nice but the gameplay (?)..
And maybe its because I am used to the newer Sonic games but if one thinks of Sonic, speed is the first thing that comes to my mind and this game is not much faster than any other platformer.

Actually this game looks like mega man x zool.

"levels with moving layered backgrounds"
...Are you talking about the parallax scrolling?

Great, great music. I can also see the Sonic graphical inspiration.
It seems to lack the smooth physics from Sonic, though. This character doesn't have acceleration and can stop on a dime.

Looks like the bastard child of Sonic and Tux stuck in a Zool game with backgrounds and music done by Sonic Team.

The movement is unerringly similar to Sonic and Knuckles sans the spin-up power. James, look up footage on Youtube of the original Sonic games, and you'll see it's nigh upon identical. The reason it looks so slow is simply because the character model is larger and his running animation is slow to play out.

Damn that funky genesis music...
It looks like a lot of work has gone into this game. Hopefully the completed thing lives up to expectations.

Jeremy E- and JForce: UNSTOPPABLE (on your site) 'rips off' nothing? but pehaps a million top down zombie shooters? Crimsonland, etc. try; zombiegames.us

The visuals seem a bit too nice to be Genesis quality...but everything else is pretty much spot on.

Those levels looks great, but the character... ugh.

The music and some of the backgrounds are great, tiles and sprites aren't. Kudos to them for actually making an original game in stead of making a "fan game" though.

the music reminds me of streets of rage.. some 80s urban sleeze

Inspired by is probably too lenient. I wish they'd worked more frames into the main character though - he's too stilted - the graphics are sexy but not so good in motion.

Not bad, not bad at all...
The music is very Sonic-esque, which I like. Is the main character a penguin?
The enemies look a bit creepy to be in a Sonic game and the backgrounds feel a bit 'sterile'. It's a bit dissonant with the cheery music.
It needs more 'blue skies', if you know what I mean...

ITS AN ANIMAL WEARING TRAINERS! I WANT IT NOOOOOW!

Doesn't look bad, but the character's turning it off for me a good bit.

Visual look great...just seems like there is a lack of enemies.
