Toki Arcade is a faithful remake of the original Toki game by Tad Corporation way back in 1989. The above video shows a comparison between the original and Golgoth's beautiful creation.

No details have been released yet as to which platform Toki will be landing on or when it's to be released, but let's have a stab in the dark and say early 2010 on PSN. I can always deny everything when it turns out I'm wrong, eh? (I was! It's headed for XBox and PC!)

So strange. Amazing animation and artwork in the remake. I vaguely remember the original game, somehow.

Holy crap, this is impressive o.O!
I wasted a lot of money playing the original arcade. (and I said "wasted" because I sucked :P)

Damn didnt expect this. I loved the original on both arcade and the megadrive (genesis). Normally I'm not a fan of the handpainted cartoony look but this looks beutiful! Awesome.

Most depressed looking monkey evar.

Love the original arcade. Graphic side of the remake project is okeyish but I dislike the soundtrack in the trailer. Original tune was so remarkable - this one sound almost like poor midi.

It's gonna be out on PC and XBL. It's already been announced, and being a TGB game it was probably never meant to be on PSN. Such a pity, since I'm a PS3 guy...

Oh wow. It's funny, because I've been thinking a fair bit about Toki recently (I used to have it on the Mega Drive, but I have played it in the arcades, too). I'm actually rather surprised that it's actually caught someone's eye enough to create a remake, being something that seemed relatively obscure. It was a very good game though, so I'm pleasantly surprised that someone has gave the game this much attention.

On PC?, yay!.
BTW, I always thought the first boss was female o.O

Strange choice, Toki was a little popular but has never been too amazing. But why not..

I love Toki (one of my all-time fav arcade games) but I am really not a fan of the painted art style in any game which is mainly down to the fact that the animation is never as liquid-smooth as the stills imply. (I understand the gameplay reasons, but I think games like this look better when they are straight-up sprited in a more classic style.)

A monkey in a football helmet shooting laser balls at zombie creatures? How awesome, I don't even want an explanation.

Is it ok to release a remake and charge for it ??

Now THIS is how you update a classic 2-D game.

New Rocket Knight Adventures, I'm looking at you.

Did they contact whoever owns the rights of the original game? I see no mention of it anywhere.

If they are going to sell this, they should have.
