20 Heroes is a puzzle platformer with a unique twist, where players are assigned twenty characters to control separately, in a group, or all at the same time. Puzzles in every area are designed around this theme, and the creativity of the designer really shows after the fifth stage or so.

You can press the down arrow key to activate a character, who will then follow your orders until they succumb to a trap or a fatal injury caused by an enemy. The space key is used to select a menu option, and you can move heroes around the map or make them jump by using the cursor keys. Pressing G allows players to restart the game. Some enemies can be stomped on, while others can only be defeated in numbers or by using a certain strategy.

Note that the game isn't really designed to be played by audiences outside of Japan, as the quiz section in stage twelve is delivered in Japanese and near impossible to beat unless you are fluent in the language. (quiz cheat sheet)

That was the worst soundtrack I've ever heard.

I didn't have time to try it past the second stage but should play it more some day, at least because the game mechanics remind me a bit of a game I'm currently developing. :)

Problem with 12.

I didn't really get hooked into the game (maybe because it's slow pace and the soundtrack aint too good) but the concept is really cool and seem to be well executed from the few I've seen.

For those stuck on level 12, you can download these images and use them as a cheat-sheet:

Open up each folder and use large icon previews. Keep in mind that the answers don't stay on the same slot between plays.

Ha ha! I just defeated the pumpkin boss, but when the gate for defeating him opened, it crushed me.

UPDATE:
The cheat sheet has been updated to include all the questions, and restructured for ease of use.

Stage 12 is now in the past, gotta beat that spider boss.

Neat concept, but something about the execution seems a little off...fun game though.

Erg. Made it to level 11 before I realized there was a level select....

What you have to do on map 4 where's the weird cat monster blocking the way.

SPOILER:
Activate at least 7 soldiers, walk them all to the left, then attack the cat

Yeah sorry that 'cheat sheet' is still indecipherable. too bad it was a fun game.

I finally beat this game!
Really enjoyed the level design and enemies

this game is too hard to play
