Brendon Chung (of Gravity Bone fame) sent out a press release today announcing his new turn-based strategy game called Flotilla, set to be released soon for the PC and Xbox Live Indie Games service. In the video that's up on the official site, he demonstrates how a skirmish in space works (complete with full 3D movement) and previews some of the content that we can expect to see in adventure mode.

Flotilla isn't the first game by Brendon that is set in space (see Pilot Light), so expect to find yourself in some really wacky situations and unusual encounters while exploring the far reaches of the universe. There's splitscreen support for cooperative playthrough in adventure mode and versus skirmishes too.

Well, I'm impressed.

Dammit, i wanted to make a game that would look and feel exactly like this D=

Heres hoping itll be mod-friendly.

Nice. The adventure mode looks like Strange Adventures in Infinite Space, but with maybe slightly less catastrophic combat.

I'm not saying Strange Adventures' combat was bad. It just usually killed me.

This looks very cool. I wonder how it will control 360? Seems very mouse driven and a analog stick control cursor might kind of suck.

Homeworld made by 1 person.. technically impressive..

This looks, simply amazing. Sort of like "Strange adventures in infinite space" with a much deeper combat system.

Looks sweet! I can't wait to get my hands on this. I am also reminded of Strange Adventures, and the similarities to Homeworld are hard to miss. A combination of my two favorite space games! Woo Hoo!

this is exactly the kind of game i looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooovee. Thank you.

Only one thought ran through my head for the whole video SLOOOOOW. Why is it SO slow? I mean I get that it shouldn't be super fast but 25-50% faster would be so much better. Other than that it looks great assuming there are more options that just attack. Startrek-esque power options would be nice. Diverting power to forward shields, to engines, to weapons etc.
